Re: Growing up and growing old with the Pet Shop Boys

I'm aware you have probably all read my blog - letter to pet shop boys - and how I grew up with them: https://lifeassistanceagency.com/2016/01/21/a-letter-to-west-end-girls/ And loved your Growing up and growing old with the Pet Shop Boys. If I stop and think about it I realize that their music is ...

Re: Growing up and growing old with the Pet Shop Boys

I find it interesting that my two sons aged 12 and 14 are now finding their own tastes in music - yes, I have subjugated them many many times to the entire PSB catalogue over the years while they were growing up so my duties as a good parent can’t be questioned [emoji28] ... I do wonder though if t...

Re: Growing up and growing old with the Pet Shop Boys

It is a really wonderful story, so ordinary but at the same time special: our lives are our stories, and every life is unique. I can relate to it at 100%, and for me is probably even stronger the relationship between me growing up and the PSB's career since I'm only a little bit older than the revie...

Some reviews came from PSB Community members.
Ok, I was only being sarcastic about some professional reviewers who doesn't really bother.

I'm sure that Will-o-the-wisp will be one of the best tracks on the album, as I trust more the PSB fans who gave us juicy and genuine details about Hotspot.

Re: Hotspot reviews

Will-o-the-wisp is always a reference in all the reviews. Best song for this review too. Accordingly to the quality of these reviews, I start to think that reviewers listen only to the first track. "Uhm, yeah I like it. 3.5 stars, let's write something general about this disc, oh wait where's that ...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

I don’t think they’ve ever used the word Princess in a song title. They should have done a song called Princess. Or Bazaar. Or Callisthenics. Nonsense. Princess and Bazaar are better as album titles than song titles  ... but Princess and Bazaar together makes a great song title!

Re: Do you think the 2 first albums of the triology have any real contender of the PSB classics?.

I think you are talking from the perspective of a harcore fan. Well, we all are. That's why we're here ;) But thanks for reminding me! Hint: If you want to avoid the perspectives of PSB fans, you might try not asking them by creating a poll in a "hardcore fan forum", right? Hint2: I think many peop...

Re: Do you think the 2 first albums of the triology have any real contender of the PSB classics?.

I think this one is a good question for a poll, although some people can hate them. Remember the classics from the 80's, the 90's, some songs from Fundamental (TSAGS, Integral), some other from Yes (Love etc, AOTW) but after that, I don't see any song you can think there is a new classic on it, I m...

Equally imbecilic as attempting to read the word Hotspot as something migrant-related.
Probably because in Italy we have more hotspots for migrants than hotspots for internet.

Re: Burning the heather

Ok, after a few listens during lunch break I could say that: - Talking about the melody line, I like the chorus. The verses sound too general and repetitive. They also reminds me of The Forgotten Child. - The lyrics are very cryptic and interpretative: is the autumn portrayed a phase of life? A feel...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

Strange title choice. Maybe it will make sense in the context of listening to the whole album, but for now it sounds flat and meaningless, totally unrelated to the cover artwork. Very un-PSB in that sense. I can't believe they ran out of ideas. Maybe Hotspot is meant to be the opposite to a chill p...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

I don't think that on Neil's mind hotspot is the internet thing.
If we consider his own political ideas, after Agenda, Dreamland, his avversion to Brexit and Trump,
I bet he's referring to the migrants hotspot.
