I’m out of guesses. However, I’m still keen on that album Neil “threatened” (sarcastically) to make called “Slush”... consisting of the most slow, unbearably OTT PSB ballads imaginable :)

Regardless of one’s personal politics, the PSB have definitely let the political climate of the day influence their songwriting, their albums.

Exhibit 1:

“Actually” and Thatcherism. Would “King’s Cross” have ever been written in a different political climate?

nonetheless, i love Bourgeois, Dictator and even Hold on. Totally agreed with these tracks! And so glad that I've found someone else who loves Hold On! I think it's fantastic but boy are we in the minority on that one! :lol: I like “Hold On”, and I’m not ashamed to admit it! Also: The non-vocal mix...

10000+ for top 40? When you have two PSB albums easily inside the top 10 around that time (Nightlife and Release) which both sold 17 - 18k. Both went down to 28 and 32 respectively in their second week. According to your stat above, both must have sold over 10k for those 2nd week positions. I know ...
