Re: MCMLXXXIX - 30 Years

I too was at the Birmingham show and it was nothing like any other concert I had attended, totally theatrical, totally absorbing. Years later I acquired a second generation VHS and it's a real disappointment, probably why it was never released - flat, slow cuts, static perspective, a complete disser...

This is getting bloody annoying now. Please move these demented witterings to off topic or delete them all together. It's not like there's any interaction with other forum users, it's just random bullshit.

Re: Pet Shop Boys Biopic?

It wouldn't surprise me. Cinema tends to like the safe bet, that's why there are so many interminable sequels released. With a trend of the musical journey through an artist's back catalogue established by ABBA in the theatre and copied ad nauseum, a Queen biopic followed closely by an Elton biopic ...

Breathing space is one of their best ever. At the time of release I was going through some difficult times/major life crossroads decisions and it really resonated with me as a result and helped a lot. Beautiful, evocative song.

Re: These Magic Moments, Part I

Only thing I'm reminded of is the parody version of Magic Moments we used to sing at school: "I'll never forget the smell of the sweat from under your armpits..." I assume you went to a private school Mr Fancy Pants?! At our's it was a not very genteel... "It wasn't the grass that tickled your @ss ...

No duets album, that's the sound of an artist treading water... A career spanning box set featuring the unreleased stuff we know is still in the can;, demo versions (especially Bobby O and Ray Roberts versions); radio sessions (John Peel, XFM, Morning Becomes Eclectic); Rare, desirabke live stuff li...

Re: PSB EDINBURGH MUSICAL SHOW

Wonder if these four new songs will emerge in their demo form on another EP? Seems to be a worthwhile method of releasing themed tracks that otherwise don't fit a full release. As for The Turing Project there's already a more than acceptable live recording, sure only die hard fans would want it so i...

Just had a thought: Do you think the E.P. title could be a cunning double-entendre and another of their sly sexual references (viz: Before): Agenda/A Gender?

The gradual swell of the strings in The Forgotten Child, becoming ever more insistent until the drum beat kicks in. The delicious middle eight in On social media, especially #blessed I find myself humming What are we going to do about the rich? more and more. It's that infectious football chant by w...
