Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...out May 7, 2021

Yeah even ordering a book from Amazon UK is extortionate for shipping costs internationally. I suspect PSB (or rather Digital Stores) are hamstrung because of the likes of Amazon taking advantage of, and getting caught, with off shore shipping and we all get to suffer as a result. I'm still orderin...

Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...out May 7, 2021

Sorry...but what is the exact meaning of "cricket wife". I am a native spanish speaker. Thank you. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a typical Neil play on words, in this case Golf widow: "Golf widow - a wife who is left alone much of the time because her husband is playing golf"...

Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...

Cricket. Totally pointless at test level where after five bloody days the result is very often a draw, or a famous victory is ruined by bad light or rain... reasonably exciting in the 50 over version as they have to attack. And at least it isn't the American national sport of rounders we played up u...

Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller

Can't stand Paul Weller now and never have. Pompous, up himself and revels in his own self-importance. Too fond of short, clipped syllables as well, viz 'Going Underground'. I loved the punk and new wave eras but so many better bands around at the time. I'm guessing the attraction is at an intellect...

Probably your best bet is to put your name down on the eil waiting list, although they do know how to charge unfortunately:

Re: Pet Shop Boys Discord

I can't really believe this sort of thing is happening in 2021 :D . So reminiscent of the good old 00s when forums like this were breeding and flourishing. Dudes (and madams too!) who didn't like the politics of a forum would buy hosting service, install their own forum — create "rival" f...

Re: Facebook page - PSB's Tattoos?

I can't work out why anyone would want to scar their physical well being with a tattoo. Or scar their mental well being with Facebook either!

Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

I bought a rip of the laserdisk onto dvd off Ebay a few years ago. Really well packaged and everything. Guess I'll be able to retire that now. And hopefully the 1989 tour will come out at some point now too. Wasn't that filmed on 16mm film which means in theory it could be converted to HD if they r...

Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

This is exciting news, I never got the VHS but have seen the concert somewhere on TV many years ago. Is it 4:3 ratio though? Pretty sure 16:9 wasn't a thing back then (although that's now on the way out apparently, welcome "16:10" (sic)). The otherwise unreleased medleys on CDs are the sel...

Re: Live performances of Chris in past and now.

It probably depends on the circumstances whether he's forthcoming or not but I'm struck by a memory of a story (I can't remember where from) where Chris used to go to watch Arsenal with Dainton and whenever they scored Chris seemingly loving being thrown around like a rag doll in wild celebration by...

Re: It Doesn't Often Appear At Christmas

They are quite capable of writing another Christmas track, not a lot else to do in 2020! Plenty of artists have been recording complete surprise albums at home, wouldn't shock me if something magically appeared.

Re: Fan edits

I've done two, but call me old fashioned on my reel-to-reel long before anyone had thought of Audacity: A version of Absolutely Dubulous that cuts out all the chatter in the middle and makes it into the stonking dance track it is. As discussed on the Why Don't We Live Together thread a combination o...

Re: Why Don't We Live Together? (New York 12'' Dance Mix #2)

I had WDWLT? on a Sarm West demo cassette years ago. It had about 20 different excerpts, stems and variants on it. Slightly different dubs and mix. Its probably originated from that. It certainly sounds "legit" though Exactly this. I still have a copy of the same cassette. There's a lot o...

Re: It Doesn't Often Appear At Christmas

They probably need to license it to one of the Now Christmas compilations that keep getting changed around the edges every year for people to take any notice. Personally I like the odd ones like Dominic The Donkey by Lou Monte and the wonderful Blue Christmas by Miles Davis, stuff the same old same ...
