Re: Pet Shop Boys - Hyde Park Sep 15th 2019

People said the live version of Dreamland sounds better than the single, but I can't stand the added backup singer's vocals. I don't know which person it is, but it has a nails-on-chalkboard type sound. Sort of like a raspy asthma voice. Ruins the live album for me too by the way. They should get a ...

Re: The New Album Info Thread

Album is now available for preorder on the official website. I'll hold off preordering in case there's a special edition. Interesting to see, anyway. And we have the release date of the 24th now confirmed. (Late January, boo!) This is how the shop looks: https://i.ibb.co/L6vwSCm/psb-official-site-12...

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR

See the tour poster? I know Chris' hat is from the 2019 Glastonbury appearance, but I can't help but see The Cat in the Hat. https://i.ibb.co/z6J3Rmp/psb-dreamworld.jpg Greetings, I suspect a "greatest hits tour" is a "farewell tour" that desperately wants to identify as something other than a "fare...

I think it's great and sounds relevant and modern. Also, the intro sounds like Hold that sucker down by OT Quartet which makes it a winner for me right away.
Good spot!
lol it's an exact duplicate!

Re: September single...???

The song, I'd like to reserve judgement but it's not jelling with me on the first listen. It has that same "wall of sound" style as Together where it just sounds noisy and almost poorly mixed. Similar to the songs on Agenda, it's very short. 3 minutes and 28 seconds. Look at the duration of the song...

Re: Announcement

Exciting times. Let's try to keep the discussion on the announcement, not ticket prices and seatings, or the lyric video since they aren't even mentioned in the announcement! Anyway I like the idea of a hat showcase in the tour, and the return of pointy hats. "World tour" sounds promising, but they ...

Re: The two albums of Super

True, you could divide them like that. But Super has the premise of having a few near instrumental tracks like Electric did. So in a way they fit in. The b-sides follow this too. Personally the Relentless style tracks don't resonate with me well. Think of Groovy, Pazzo!, Inner Sanctum, Burn, etc. Li...

Re: A new snippet..?

sounds a bit light for PSB. I don't think it's them.
Neil's voice wouldn't fit with that tone of music.

Re: AFTER THE EVENT & IN HIS IMAGINATION

I've seen a lot of praise for In His Imagination in this forum. For me, After The Event is a favourite. I like how the lyrics unfold and the chorus changes meaning after the verse mentioning death. The vocal style particularly in the last third is a bit different, deeper than normal. Reminds me of P...

Re: Espen Kraft

The latest video is a cover of Eurythmics' Sexcrime. Some are saying it's in the style of PSB. https://youtu.be/VS-eGSO6LeA?t=98 I think it's pretty good, and would like if PSB made new music like this to be honest. Worth checking out his other videos and subscribing. The Nothing Has Been Proved cov...

Re: September single...???

Not sure this is happening now. I was expecting to feel movement back in July and there turned out to be nothing. Unless they are deliberately keeping everything under wraps for that element of surprise (a la Super) I'm starting to think it might all get pushed back to Winter/Spring. It has to happ...

Re: Looking for "PSB,really"

What is "PSB, Really"? I found out it's a radio documentary. A recollection of how PSB formed, progressed to fame, and so on. It has interviews with the boys and their associates, song clips, and some narration. It goes for an hour and 53 minutes. Really nicely put together. Feels like a journey to...
