Re: News tomorrow! (Nov 14th)

I really hope it's not some farewell announcement... peeps are obsessed with the end of the Pet Shop Boys. I really don't see them ending anytime soon - they are too busy having a good time. When and if they do make a decision to end it ... I don't see them making a 'major news' announcement in thi...

Re: Dreamland / No Boundaries / An Open Mind single - October

Finally got the chance to listen to the single and b-sides. An open mind is indeed a great track, No boundaries is too repetitive for me, reminds me of the recent songs they wrote for Musik. Certainly not among their best work in b-sides. As for the Dreamland remixes, I like the PSB and Jacques Rena...

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR

Why only take the UK chart as criterion? The world is bigger than that and the Boys are popular all over the world. They had top 10 hits in countries that did not make the UK chart.

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR

The recent Kylie compilation was indeed quite succesful, but is the exception to the rule I would say. A box set would be interesting, but also a bit odd given their recent FL reissues. If you buy them all you have a pretty comprehensive box set... What would go on it then that would be of interest ...

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Hyde Park Sep 15th 2019

Here's an HD link for those who can't watch otherwise https://vimeo.com/360165381 At 1:12.27 you can see the bit where Neil comes in too early for the second verse of Domino Dancing. Is Neil singing along with a recorded voice of himself also audible to the audience? Or is he singing alone with his...

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR

Don't think there will be a new compilation, who would buy such a release? It would basically mean a PSB greatest hits playlist, as all their songs are already on Spotify. The days of greatest hits albums are over. Also a bit weird to release such a greatest hits album coinciding with their new albu...

Re: Forthcoming PSB TV and radio appearances...

Apologies if this is a double post, but the BBC documentary Pet shop Boys - The Parlophone Years is available for the next 21 days via https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0008hgf Noticed this through a post on the PSB official facebook. It's a radio interview by Graham Norton with Neil and a suprisin...

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Hyde Park Sep 15th 2019

Just cannot quite believe I’m on a PSB forum in 2019 and a so-called fan is using the word ‘YUK!!!’ to describe ‘extreme’ gay visibility in a performance. How the f*** is this in any way acceptable. This is deeply offensive indeed and not acceptable. I take personally offense in this remark... This...

Re: Rate "Dreamland"

First time I heard Dreamland I thought 'mwe', but after repeated listening I cannot get it out of my head anymore :)
So for me it's an almost-instant earworm. I like the blend of Neil's and Olly's voices. Both have quite thin voices, but I don't mind.

Well, in most of the world its summer now, and soon autumn unless you live in Australia or New Zealand.
Or South-America, or South-Africa.
In fact in half of the world it’s Winter now... so not most parts.

Re: PSB EDINBURGH MUSICAL SHOW

Mongrel and Soup are cringeworthy. Ich bin Musik is too repetitive and the non-German pronunciation of Musik makes no sense to me. The songs are extracts from a show performed in character. Something like Soup isn't meant to be dropped into a playlist; it's supposed to be cringe, because Billie Tri...

Re: PSB EDINBURGH MUSICAL SHOW

Bought the digital EP and must say I'm a bit disappointed. Loved C2H and Billie Trix in it, but passed on the Run Girl Run CDS when it was for sale at the initial C2H show. Never 'got' that song. For every moment is the only standout track for me. Mongrel and Soup are cringeworthy. Ich bin Musik is ...
