Re: September single...???

Weakest lead single in quite a while IMO. Nothing about it is working for me.

You're right. I don't know the concept. I am judging the music and it sounds terrible.
You are doing the equivalent of judging a comedy as a drama. It's a pointless exercise that makes you look silly.

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP

One is the rhythmic patterns, which sounds like those found on "arranger keyboards" in the 80's and 90's, where you basically just press play and get a shitty bogstandard drum pattern. Second are the drum sounds themselves, which sounds like vanilla drums found on any of said keyboards, unprocessed...

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP

Absolutely no need to spend tonnes of money. Just a little effort really. Or alternatively reel in some young producer who's dying to work with a couple of synth-pop legends for a dime. Sounds like you have no idea what the Edinburgh Fringe is, nor the context of the one-woman show itself. The song...

Re: PSB EDINBURGH MUSICAL SHOW

Mongrel and Soup are cringeworthy. Ich bin Musik is too repetitive and the non-German pronunciation of Musik makes no sense to me. The songs are extracts from a show performed in character. Something like Soup isn't meant to be dropped into a playlist; it's supposed to be cringe, because Billie Tri...

01. “Mongrel”...the 1940s
02. “Soup”...the 1950s
03: “Run, girl, run”...the 1960s
04. “Ich bin Musik”...the 1970s
05. “Friendly fire”...the 1980s
06. “For every moment”...the 1990s

I don't think this is the format. Half the playlist doesn't fit the decades you assign them.

Re: Demography actually exist?

I have this, it came in one of those chunky double CD boxes and is obviously a handmade bootleg.

The sound quality is atrocious in places. You can tell Neil is singing It's Not Unusual for example but it's nothing you would actually listen to for pleasure.

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

The fact is that Ego Music and Your early stuff are not album material - the sounds and the lyrics are b-side-material, no arguement about that. Your Early Stuff is sublime and the perfect example of an album track. Ego Music is unlistenable and should have been swapped out for In His Imagination. ...

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

But while taste may be subjective, here is a fact - it's their worst selling studio album by far. And New York City Boy charted higher than Being Boring. I feel sorry for the fans who can't depart from the formula. If Behaviour came out tomorrow you'd be moaning about the lack of obvious hits and c...

Re: New EP in April: Agenda

National Review has an essay National Review is a synecdoche for the idiocy the song criticizes, not least because nothing in the track references Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Neil is unlikely to be following the nascent career of a freshman politician an ocean away. Critical thinking skills folks,...

Re: New EP in April: Agenda

The video for "On social media" has been posted on The Drudge Report with the headline "Pet Shop Boys Mock Social Media Users." Middle column half-way down. https://www.drudgereport.com Of course he ignores the three overtly political songs, none of which play to the spin he gives his readership. :)

Retrofuturist refuted your post, simply by not being triggered by your low-quality bait.
Doubling down on your inability to refute my post just makes you look twice as silly.
