Re: Albums played live
And what's the point for us hardcore fans with a greatest hits show... that's for the proles... I disagree. I was/am really looking forward to Dreamworld because it's essentially the first time they've ever done a GH tour. It's exciting to think of all those songs being played together for the firs...

Re: Albums played live
It would sell about as many tickets as copies of the latest edition of Annually... Exactly. This is why I think their tours make an elegant compromise: they pack them with hits for the casuals who make up the vast bulk of any ticket-buying audience, and pepper the set with current album tracks and ...

Re: Albums played live
I don't understand why playing a wide variety of tracks from across 35 years is less creative than playing 10-12 tracks from one album. Because they've already done it. Playing a whole album hasn't been done yet. Introspective would be awesome. From the opera beginning, via latin party, Parisian re...

Re: Albums played live
I completely disagree with Drico. :D My objection is it's just another rockist trope. You say plenty of bands do this, but the vast majority of them are rock bands - and for good reason: rock is always more backward looking Don't buy in to that Neil crap theory about rock vs pop! I believed in Neil...

Re: Albums played live
its the greatest hits tours that are boring, and not very creative to me. I don't understand why playing a wide variety of tracks from across 35 years is less creative than playing 10-12 tracks from one album. Because they've already done it. Re: Albums played live
But they did almost this when they presented Elysium in Berlin. Behaviour or Introspective or Very would be the albums that would render themselves best as a live concept. Behaviour with the extended mixes of BB, This must be and Jealousy, orchestras and guitars, adding Where the streets, We all fee...

You don’t pay 50€ for one song, you pay 20£ for a 2 track CD single and a book, the rest is not anything they are making any money from. And you know I am not even sure they make any money anyway, Maybe they break even. Chris once said that they lost money from the magazine because it was so expens...

I didn't even look at the price. No more diaries, no more insider information, no more behind the scenes photos, no more questions from the fans, etc. Well, some so called fans on this forum don't want us to care about inside information etc. Refering to the discussion about N & C ever being a ...

This is going to be expensive, probably around 40-45 €.
I remember when I bought the maxi-cd collection many yeas ago. A steep price for 4 discs with very little music.... but in the end it was worth it. Not so sure about this stuff though...

Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
Nope, he's completely in the realms of the anglocentrics. I know he's famous in that particular country but it doesn't mean that much anymore. You guys are ridiculous. He's Paul Weller - any reasonably educated music fan will know him... Merely pointing out his provincial scope of fame (and of cour...

Re: Recording of DJ Culture and Was It Worth It?
Hindsight (as they say) is a wonderful thing and looking back now I wonder if holding Discography back by another 6 months a year would have made any difference. As has been mentioned before, PSB had already released a lot of product, Behaviour, 4 singles and the Performance tour in the previous 12...

Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
For those who may not know - Paul Weller he was the lead singer of The Jam (post punk) and then The Style Council (soul pop). He also had a successful solo career in the 1990s. Thank you Never heard about him. Probably, he is more local English singer who couldn't be popular in the world as Pet Sho...
