Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour 2022, 2023 & now 2024

A fun night at the Opera House! The set list was the same except with dancers. I think in Brum and Manchester the three new singles were sang one after another. Tonight, a song (I think it was New York city boy) was insterted after Dancing Star and before A New Bohemia. A rather unpleasant gentleman...

Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour 2022, 2023 & now 2024

I've been to several Dreamworlds now, the first in Hull, the most recent in IoW (front row). Yes, of course it's very standardized, but my impression is that spontaneous audience response has quite a big impact on performance in ways that are hard to pin down, maybe to do with general energy. I mean...

Am selling my ticket for Sunday's Koko gig

I can no longer go on Sunday, so am selling my ticket for PSB at Koko. :( I initially posted about this under the For Sale/Wanted part of the forum, but no interest there, so am trying here instead. Let me know if you're interested. You'll need the DICE app to receive the ticket, and I believe the t...

For sale: 1 ticket for PSB at KOKO this Sunday

I have a ticket for PSB at KOKO on Sunday, but sadly can no longer make it. With somewhat of a heavy heart I'm selling it for the amount I paid for it. I am in Sweden so couldn't buy on the DICE app but bought my ticket through Viagogo at an inflated price; I need to double check, but I think I paid...

Re: NONETHELESS - The reviews of the members of Pet Shop Boys Community

What a PSB-week it's been! Love the album. All songs are good for different reasons and very singalong-able. Here's my tuppence worth of details I love about it: *The fabulous intro and outro of Why am I dancing. My favourite song on the album. "Maybe I can celebrate on my own?" *The lyric...

Re: Jo Whiley - An evening in with PSB

Yes, that was fun. Remember well Black Beauty on a Sunday evening with that great theme tune. Anything big and brassy is good. Ski Sunday anyone? Vaughan Williams, a great choice. Some of his harmonies are to die for (literally for some). We played a Vaughan Williams symphony in my (amateur) orchest...

Re: Forthcoming PSB TV and radio appearances...

Really lovely interview with them on Front Row (BBC Radio 4) tonight. None of this "So how did the two of you get together?", or "Wow, I'm such a fan!...". Just a very natural interview. Chris very complimentary about Neil's calibre as a performer.

I think they're on BBC Radio 4's Front Row on Thursday.

Yes please! if it's still available.
(For some reason I can't access the private message thing since they did the reboot, or whatever it was.)

Re: Club show at @KOKOLondon on 26th May.

A bit gutted. Was gearing up to get a ticket, downloaded the app etc, but was working at 11 (Sweden), so by the time I looked at the app, just a bit after 11, it was all sold out. Tried to get on the waiting list, but get the message "The event is not available for your territory". What do...

Re: An hour with PSB on Radio 2 "Rylan on Saturday"

It annoys me when some (many) interviewers talk too much and talk over interviewees. There was quite a bit of this with Rylan, though I will admit, some of the things he said were quite funny. I'm like, "just let them talk", and don't keep telling us how much you like them, it's tedious. (...

Re: An hour with PSB on Radio 2 "Rylan on Saturday"

It was a fun listen, lots of laughter, ending up in Benidorm with Sticky Vicky and the nepo baby daughter. Good song choices. Yes, it is slightly tedious that interviewers always start by asking about the "origins", but impressive how Neil always makes it sound like it's the first time the...

Re: Piano Room Month - 2024

The video is definitely made up from at least two performances. Watch the black plinth with the glass of water beside Neil change to a piano stool with a paper cup on it every now and then in different shots. Well spotted! Most of the time it was with the glass of water, so I'm assuming the few cli...

Re: New book- “The Pet Shop Boys and the Political”

This title have actually been around for some time, and i read a sample on my Kindle a while ago. Utter dross Overtly queercentric, pretetious an pseudo-academic. Not worth the money I suspected so. I briefly looked at the cover blurb and chapter titles a good while back now. A bit cringe and labou...
