Re: Did you see me coming? 12"

Never mind the mis-labels (mine wasn't) - how good is that Richard X mix of 'The Way It Used To Be'?? Bloody fantastic. Listened to all three physical formats of the single this evening, and can't stop spinning this mix!

They aren't all available on CD - many have just been audio on DVD singles. The audio on this may well be compressed mp3 versions of the tracks, meaning CD would be higher quality. True... but this is a more an argument for including them on a later Further Listening compilation, than an otherwise ...

This can easily fit on two CDs, if they don't include the handful of live tracks that have been on singles: Is standart audio CD format implies no more than 70 minutes per 5" disc? You adduced almost full list of b-sides from last decade (of course, then dVTB or someone else will come and blame us ...

Here's a repost of my message from another thread, to which Drem replied in this thread (above) This can easily fit on two CDs, if they don't include the handful of live tracks that have been on singles: (Disc 1) 1. The Truck Driver And His Mate 3:34 2. Hit And Miss 4:06 3. In The Night 1995 4:18 4....

Well, it may be another earnest reason, because Pet Shop Boys already have more than 140 minutes of b-sides, and they need to set aside some of them to fit 2CD limitation. This can easily fit on two CDs, if they don't include the handful of live tracks that have been on singles: (Disc 1) 1. The Tru...

You can only get a chart placement these days if you have three physical formats or less - I think that's why they introduced new rules: to stop fans being "ripped off" by having to buy multiple formats. Plus it was a way of levelling the playing field, as big artists with massive fan bases could re...

My suspicion was that the regular 'Fundamental' version would have been the main single mix, with the 2 versions of the 'Immaculate' mixes being bonus tracks. Especially as this is how they've played it many times live. Having read that the video features the remix edit, this now suggests otherwise....

They only perform about the first half of 'We're The Pet Shop Boys' before it segues into 'Left to my own devices' anyway - doesn't get as far in to need the Chris part. More like a medley a la 'Opportunities/Integral'. Still a cool opening though. Wish they played it in it's entirety.

Do what I did: Dig out the CD singles just once, burn them to your PC, then create this compilation all for yourself. Simple!

Re: At Times You've Got To Be Able To Tell Those You Love...

Compare it to the original Disco from 21 years ago. Probably one of the coolest albums ever recorded in the history of Pop music. Has everyone forgotten that all the tracks on the original 'Disco' album had been previously released, yet it was a fantastic album that still sounds good to this day???

Shame they couldn't get permission to put their excellent mix of Blur's 'Girls & Boys' on there too...
