Further listening 2003-????

OK, here is my tracklisting so far for a potential Fundamental Further listening CD: 1. Bright young things 2. Flamboyant (demo) 3. Miracles 4. Flamboyant (PopArt version, trainspoters may prefer the single version, but I think the album version is a better mix) 5. We re the Pet Shop Boys 6. (single...

I've used http://www.cdjapan.co.jp for the past few years and I've found delivery to be about the same as from the UK (I live in the US), and the prices less than buying the products as as import from a domestic source. In typical Japanese fashion, they also package their items for shipping with gre...

Bass guitar on Minimal? Peter Hook perhaps?

Almost made this into a poll, but that would be taking it too far... So, does the mighty Peter Hook actually play on Minimal (he has DJed with the PSB in recent years), or is Chris playing a Hookyesque sample; or perhaps is Trevor Horn playing the bass (or maybe Neil, he did play bass on Opportuniti...

Well, I don't know if it's one of their best albums, but it certainly captured the period of life I was in at the time: 27 years old, single, newly successful and responsible but still going out to the clubs and bars most nights of the week looking for, and occasionally having, adventures (but many ...

Copy Control and Fundamental

Hi all, I've ordered a copy of Fundamental from Japan, whick is reportedly copy controlled. Of course, I want to make my own CD-R for personal use with the album, new Fundamentalism tracks, b-sides, etc. Questions are: 1. Are copy controlled CDs of lesser quality (corrupted correction data, etc.) 2....

So, what formats will you purchase?

Hi all, I don't usually start these type of threads, but here we go... This will be the first time I can remeber that I won't be buying the UK format of the latest single because, well, two track CD, 7", and PAL DVD are crap choices for the record company to put out, especially from the point of vie...

I think it's impressive that they've managed to keep it from the fans as long as they have this time around.

Fundamentalism Japan Bonus track

Hi all,
Hmv Japan is listing a ninth track on their edition of Fundamentalism. However, the title is in Japanese! Perhaps they decided to tack on The Resurrectionist (extended mix). Here's the link:

Further thoughts: Reminiscent of PSB's classic image: Neil is erudite (but occasionally foolish) and Chris is street-smart, but they both share a common view and experience of modern existence. Perhaps overstating the case, but a truly excellent sleeve nonetheless! Much better than Release, Bilingua...
