Re: London second hand record stores with PSB CD singles?
Also visted a few of the stone vinyl stores in London a while back, thinking that it must be the wallhallah for rare vinyls etc, London being such a music city. Well, the two used vinyl stores in my provincial town in the Netherlands had more of interest than all the London stores combined... most l...

Re: Liza Minnelli - Results Expanded 4 disc edition
I can't justify buying it when (1) the DVD won't play on my DVD player (and, yes, I know I "should get a region-free DVD player," but I don't have one and it would make sense to buy one just for the sake of the extremely few non-NTSC DVDs I would ever purchase) and (2) nearly all of the b...

Re: Reissues project
Will order Yes but not Elysium. My least favourite album, aside from Disco 2. I felt the same but I am getting both for the booklets. It's a shame that considering the documented material from both we had such little new content, especially considering that b-sides from both eras turned up on previ...

At the Super Tour gig in Tilbutg, the Netherlands, there were also issues with Left to my own devices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPMTu_zo8X0
After the song Neil joked that this was a unique version especially for Tilburg (the chatter is not in the YT clip)

Re: 'Yes' and 'Elysium', will be released on Oct 20th, 2017
Unfortunately, the opposite is typically the case, with new remasters being even louder and more heavily compressed than previous masters The 3 original albums were already heavily compressed to be begin with and I'm convinced the new remastered versions sound a lot better. Which I absolutely didn'...

Re: 'Yes' and 'Elysium', will be released on Oct 20th, 2017
Was Elysium originally ever released as a single LP, or just a double, along with the instrumentals? I have a 2-LP with the instrumentals, I doubt there was ever a single-LP (it's not on discogs). The 2LP is still easy to find though. A remaster for a five-year-old album? Give over! Well, that's wh...

Re: Reissues project
Ooo that's an annoying typo. Was thinking of ordering Fundamental on vinyl but now I'll wait. Was not too bothered by the typos in the FL booklets though.
It all comes down to saving cost on physical product these days.

Re: Reissues project
What's with Neil knocking "Screaming"? Sure, they did it for the money. But the melody is still quite good, the piano motif in particular. But I doubt Neil did all the screams... Yes, wondered about that too. Screaming is not one of my favourites, but I can think of many worse PSB tracks....

Re: Could we get Disco remasters with FL discs?
I've always thought making Disco into a series was a mistake and a very un-PSB type thing to do. It cheapens the reputation of the original album. Seems like the consensus is that Disco 2 shouldn't have been released at all (or should have been released with less fuss, without trying to give it the...

Re: Reissues project
The Very Relentless set was limited to 15,000 copies in the U.K . And 60,000 for the whole of Europe. I haven' t got the numbers for the rest of the world. Amazing how times have changed in the music world. The extremely "limited" Relentless had a run of 60,000 copies in the EU, while I d...

Great to hear about their ballet being performed again. Went to the original run in London and enjoyed every minute, also like the CD very much.

Re: Reissues project
Finally got my copies and listened to them. Absolutely love them, and I especially like the fatboxes for the 3-CDs. Also bought the Nightlife vinyl. Apart from Je t'aime...moi non plus that was discussed above, I also missed the live B-sides from I Get Along and You only tell me you love me when you...

Re: Reissues project
The master for a vinyl record is an analogue one, for CD etc a digital master is used. Obviously the source materials (ie the studio recording and mix) are the same, but the master is very different. For analogue masters, some artificial enhancements have to be made to cope with the distortions viny...
