Jesus, this is hardly the event to try out new material. It will be a greatest hits set - anything else would be highly questionable, and not in line with other major acts performing on the day. Its not supposed to be self-serving - its meant to attract the largest audience possible. Start playing ...

I just wish to say hi to all the negativists in this thread, who claimed PSB would never be asked to perform on Live8. How are you guys, enjoying the nice weather today? :D  It's good to see PSB in! Apparently some people thought that PSB are worthy enough to headline one of the stages, which...

How fun. It seems like any group not quite famous enough to cut it for the main event in London, gets their ego stroked better by offering them a post in the colonies. For example: A-ha - Berlin Duran Duran - Rome Craig David - Paris Pet Shop Boys - Moscow Looks like they've drawn the shortest possi...

Its funny how people rant on about the reworking of Being Boring on the Nightlife tour.

I thought it was amazing, and heart-stoppingly unexpected when the bass suddenly dropped and the full-on synths kicked in. A highlight of the show. Totally exhilerating. I can feel the adrenelin rush even now!

I dunno - wasnt "Let me show you" released in 1995? That was pretty huge at the time, I imagine Chris loved that track - its his sort of thing.

I like to listen to release in the hour before sleep, it's a nice chillout album and gets me thinking about love and relationships. Not sure if that's a good thing in itself however? That's how I perceive Release too. I've always found it a really good post-work album or one to listen to on train j...

I've always loved Electricity. Its nearly ten years old and still sounds fresh compared to most of their mid-nineties stuff.

I'm one of the few who believe it would have made a good single - more so than Single-Bilingual.

Metamorphosis I can take or leave. Its a little cheesy.

Neil said it was shot at Tottenham Court Road underground station (Literally #25). But it´s only the mice that have been filmed there. Neil and Chris weren´t being filmed there. Exactly, I was talking about the mice scenes. Sorry about the little mess. Wasn´t Heart filmed in Yugoslavia or som...

Rent is one of the best songs the pet shop boys have ever written.

And actually, its probably one of the best songs ever written by anyone.

And to push out songs of the calibre of Beautiful Day and Vertigo so far into their career - well, you do have to take your hat off to them. what 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' rip off and Hello, hello I'm in a place called Vertigo.....yeah,yeah,yeah. U2 will always be the rock equivalent of The Emp...

I dont say it as if its a bad thing - I say it as if its a fact. It doesnt stop me enjoying them live, but for big events they just can't cut it. Agree to an extent. Obviously it depends on what the crowd is made up of. If it was a crowd made up of older people they would be fine. Didn't they do a ...
