New pet text - old cassettes
Neil has dug up "old cassettes from various studio sessions" and posted a pic. https://www.petshopboys.co.uk/pet-texts/2020-06-16/cassettes Now, is there anything of interest here? Some "monitor" mixes of Performance and a few session mixes from the 80's. Anything that sheds any ...

I don't wanna - hey, those remixes are really good
Wow, can't keep my ears off them. Those remixes on the 12'' of I don't wanna are amazing. I don't really listen to them as individual tracks, more like one long remix. When the cowbell sets in after three minutes.... Feels like a perfect merge of the 80's and the 20's. Amazing that something that a ...

Re: Really bad experience Pet Shop Boys Shop
Horrifying. I've had problems as well but not as severe as yours. Really sorry. I always try to use other sources when I buy records, trustable local resellers, but when it comes to stuff like Annually etc there is no choice avaiable.

Hints in interview about PSB early days
Neil is interviewed in The Guardian after the triumphant best nr 1 achievement. "We recorded three other songs in an hour and a half", he says about what followed immediately after the '84 recording of West End girls. Which three? There is also mentioning of the very first version of West ...

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Restored
Doesn't look like an impressive collection of songs but there are probably four albums worth of material from 1981-1985 lying around. Time to release it.

Re: Bobby 'O' post-1984 releases
The Montreal mixes have extra WEG-lyrics "Looking left, turning right etc..." It's an enigmatic song
But hey, three versions of Pet Shop boys? I only know of one... enlighten me please!

The best remix ever
Hey, I sometimes tend to think that Keyan's permanent ecstasy mix of We all feel better in the dark is the best remix of a PSB song ever. I mean, it's 15 min 40 sec long and combines all of the remixes of WAFB in seamless smooth way. And may I remind you, it's 15 min 40 sec long.

Your funny uncle on Behaviour
Hm, sometimes I feel that Your funny uncle should've been saved for Behaviour. Perhaps fleshed out with a minute or so of instrumental or a beat and put on after Being Boring.

Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good
I just listened all through Relentless, for the first time in a very long time. I remebered it as a cool sounding elecronic album, sort of a follow up to Introspective or a forerunner to Yes etc or Electric. Boy, I was wrong. It's quite bleak, feels dated, the few lyrics are of low quality. Had Euro...

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album
I get the rush to today's 'Here today, forgotten tomorrow' producer or remixer who are having their 15 minutes of fame for singles but not for albums. Nothing is bound to make it date quickly than that choice. Someone with considerable experience of the mainstream like Giles Martin or Quincy Jones,...

Hey, didn't they play it live a couple of times on the Discovery tour. I've been searching for an audio of that for 25 years.

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album
To sum things up. I've read three good suggestions: Anne Dudley, Hans Zimmer and Alan Wilder. Apart from Bobby O that is. Have you heard My beautiful laundrette? It's the sound we've been waiting for, the proper banging and laser, not that Stuart Price-millenial crap. The sound of when going to the ...

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album
@df118junkie pmsl agree! Some great suggestions but not Rich X. Next producer needs to be current otherwise they’re on the slippery slope (think Dawson/Elysium). What ever, you can bet that SP will be involved somewhere (sighs) as he’s their ‘musical director’. You're absolutely right, time to brin...
