I do agree with you that the acts they wrote about in the post-punk era were a more varied bunch but even when I read it in the late 1980s, it was entertaining. And of course many people would argue - one not a million miles from here - that the S/A/W acts were actually more interesting.

I heard the West End Girls 2005 remix that's available on the new remix cd, released by ZYX. Weird enough, this new remix is NOT based on the original 1984 version, but it's obviously based on the 1986 single version, produced by Stephen Hague.
