In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
An old post states that there exists a first video version of VOCAL with an exclusive edit of the song:
Has anyone noticed that the VOCAL video has been changed? The video now uses the radio edit, whereas before the video used a unique mix which ended in a repeat of the "so strong, it's so strong"...
Last post
Isn't the original video edit the same as the radio edit but it includes the intro?
As for alternate mixes, guess we might find out when Electric: Further Listening eventually comes out.
Has anyone here read the book called:
The Pet Shop Boys and the Political
It just looks like a collection of essays or papers from random people who work at Universities. Basically social and political commentary themed around the Pet Shop Boys influence on the world.
I can’t seem to...

Relistened to Schlager Hit Parade recently and it does seem darkly prescient in today's interesting times.
Absolutely! It's right up there with Fugitive, but hides behind a cheerful chorus.
I knew they'd never release it as a Christmas single - opening with " If you think you’re going down in...
I submit this question every year to Annually but it never seems to get asked.
What happened to Spaghetti Records? Did big label funding get pulled? Why were the Pete Burns and Kiki Kokova releases not on spaghetti but completely new labels?
Anyone have any inside intel?

I really liked Phat Girls. Surprised it didn't do better.
My favourite PSB song is 'This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave'. I've loved the album and 2 x extended mixes since they came out.
But one thing I only noticed for the first time very recently, is a slight different in the drum patterns between the versions. Warning: once you've heard...
It's a new "PSB since 1984" release. West end Girls T-Shirt at a slightly jaunty angle. Yours for £40.
£40 for a t-shirt. What a time to be alive.

I think it's an abuse to charge €45 + customs for a T-shirt. Lately I've only seen merchandising launches at exorbitant prices. Personally, I can't buy it all. And less in the PSB store with shipping and customs prices so high. This for a fan is far-fetched.
I was watching the second episode of 'Pluribus' and when the end credits played, I thought that sounds familiar. It was "Nobody Told Me" by Murat Evgin, a Turikish version of the John Lennon song.
I first thought it as a cover of '...rich' form the chorus melody and chord progression
In the Alternative booklet Neil talks about the jam session that created Atomsplitting and that they had seven minutes of material.
The released full length version is 5:13, almost two minutes shorter.
Now, the question is what happened to these two minutes.
Was it not good enough for a release?...
Last post
As much as I actually like Atom Splitting, the Alternative version does overstay it's welcome - maybe I can only take that type of assault on my ears for so long. A 7 minute version of it might even push me over the edge.
I'd rather have an album of Atomsplitting-music than the ballet stuff...
Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at Somerset House that day (or at least the guy who brought the coffee). This just reinforces my teenage notion that Smash Hits would have been the BESTEST EVER place to work (sigh...)

The can-can legs were mentioned by him in a previous interview a few years back and it fascinated me as I remembered those legs from my first visit to London when I was nine. I thought they were in a shop on a different street (Oxford or Regent st?) but who knows.
By popular demand I try to reconfigurate their discography by adding the live record which would've prolonged the Very-imperialish era.
PSB only released the Rio concert on video. The album came out decades later. A pity, they should've done a live album already in 1995. And by album I really mean...

For me, their live rendition of 'Kings Cross' during the Discovery Tour has always been one of their greatest live moments. The instrumentation and Neil's fabulous vocals, not to mention the clapping of the crowd, always move me to tears.

Yep, it sounds great but it doesn't have the party vibe...
Which PSB single has the most number of songs on their releases (7'', 12'', CD-maxi etc)?
I guess the 7'' + any other remix or version can only be counted as 2 maximum.
I've thought of I Get Along where we get:
I Get Along
Searching for THe Face of Jesus
Between Two Islands
Home and Dry (Blank &...

This happened exactly while my interest was moving (for some years) away from PSB...
How was this possible?
Do you remember if Did You See Me Coming? was already known to be the second single?
Or maybe at that time PSB had a different plan for Did You See Me Coming??
On the 5th January 1986 ‘West End Girls’ ascended to the top of the U.K. singles charts, giving Pet Shop Boys their first number one.
That song changed my life. It sparked a lifelong love of music and of their music in particular that no other record had. Four decades on and it still sounds fresh...

Always a disheartening when your hero describes something you based your life's inspiration on as a real throwaway song.
I just had a couple of listens to Extended mix of Paninaro '95 and had a revelation.
When the single came out I was disappointed by the PSB Extended mix. Although it was their own mix, I felt it didn't have enough of the original song in it. But now I came to see the point. Paninaro '95 originated...

I’ve never watched the video for the single version before… it’s quite something…
Them: The Domino Dancing video is too homoerotic!
PSB: Hold our exquisitely chilled champagne.
The email I received says that it was filmed with 14 cameras in 4K digitally.
Anyone else disappointed that it is being released as just a blu-ray and CDs? Why isn't it being released as a 4K UHD Blu-ray and standard Blu-Ray. What is on the CDs? I'd much rather have a 4K UHD than CDs.

I hate to think we've devolved to the point where we're believing anything generated by AI.
Well, note that I haven't been the person using it as a proof of anything in the first place. My observation was more anecdotal, since no one from my small circle of collectors, or really any person I've...
I put on Disco 2 the other day and actually listened to Liberation (E Smoove 12'' mix edit) all the way through.
And on its own it's not a bad track, listenable. As a remix of Liberation (off Very) it's probably one of the most weird tracks in the PSB catalogue.
To my ears there is nothing, and I...

Personally i think they are great for the dance floor, and that’s what they were made for.
That's the problem for most of us who never get to the dancefloor that often to be able to enjoy those remixes. Remixes for enjoyment at home are what drives me forward :)
I'm wondering if anyone knows the full tracklist of what they played at their first gig at Brixton Fridge? Did they play early Bobby O versions of songs like I Get Excited? Also curious as to what they played at ICA the next year in 85.

How about them really putting the cat among the pigeons and playing an exclusive new track from Naked, or from the reworked A Man From The Future??
Yeah, I've thought about that. I think some people have suggested In The Club Or In The Queue. They could do a song we've never heard before,...
Remember when Pet Shop Boys used to post their own annual review to their website - a neat roundup of everything they’d done over the previous twelve months? I always loved those. So here’s my version: a look back at a year that was, technically, a between‑albums lull, yet also somehow incredibly...
I was looking up PSB songs for a poster I am making on iTunes and I stumbled upon a song called Pet Shop Boys by an artist called Yoo-Yoo. I found the song on youtube and it seems that's the only single they have done. Two tracks and the title track is called Pet Shop Boys.
iTunes says it was...

PSB opened one of their radio stints with this track (I think opened). I love it, it's gorgeous. Thanks for bringing it back to mind...!
I just received some digital ticket stubs for an upcoming (Iron Maiden) concert and when I went online I found others that I'd "collected" along the way, including the Unity Tour.
Like the PSB Super NFT, these seem a bit pointless. I'd rather have a proper printed/laminated version as a keepsake....

I asked my son to get me the Liberation CDs for Christmas and, knowing that he is a 3D printing enthusiast, also asked if he could recreate the N&C “spinning tops” from the covers.

On the subject of credits, there is the question of who wrote the lyrics to J'ai Pas Peur. I haven't seen anything but the credits Tennant/Lowe but the lyrics are in french. Robbie Williams co-wrote Your Disco Needs You for Kylie in a similar playful, camp mood, using deliberately basic, school-level french: "vous êtes jamais seuls

I do wish all the people going to Obscure, a great time there.

Personally I think it will depend on if we are going to get a third B-side collection next year (maybe even called Obscure).

Pet shop boys don’t get any co writing credit for It’s Alright. As previously mentioned, a new co writing credit would be negotiated before the new version is published, with original writers or publisher. So for Go West, I imagine Psb’s publisher probably approached them and said something like...
Well, a clearly mad-looking person in a wig is quite literally not the same as a trans woman. Choose your words wisely, unless you're implying there's an equivalence there. They're not "accused of transphobia", they ARE transphobic.
Yeah, but why? It's something they're not telling.

My copy arrived late last week and it is a nice, glossy little memento. Every time I see shots of the crowd in the Hollywood Bowl "pool", I try to look for myself. Haven't succeeded yet.
There's a surprising amount of Chris in profile - he's giving a lot more face than usual here!
It's interesting how many times this expression comes up in Neil's lyrics. A quick search of the official PSB lyric pages shows that it pops up in A new bohemia, Reunion, In his imagination and Can you forgive her?
Ditto "go all the way", which shows up in It couldn’t happen here,...
With the UK charts completely clogged up with the usual Xmas songs, I wonder why IDOSAC isn’t charting? Even a lowly number 99 would be nice. Is it because it simply isn’t on pre-made Spotify playlists? You’d think now they’re back on Parlaphone and that a lyric video was made last year, that it...

I was just thinking to myself that Radio 2 had been playing the boys a bit more than usual the last week or so... and now Vernon Kaye has just played a wee advert that Neil and Chris have done for his Ten to the Top quiz! Might be a hint that there is some Radio 2 PSB event or programme being...

I bet Chris is very good at it!! They maybe recorded it when they were plugging the Pissdown, sorry, Party in the Park last year.

Since there are more mixes (many of them are 'dubs') of the songs included on "Disco 5", why not releasing "Disco 5.1" with remixes/dubs?
This "lost album" was recently discussed as it turns out there was a mentioning of it in a music magazine in 1988
