''Elysium'' - New album updates 2012.

#1 Post by Sandy Shaw » Sun 25 Mar 2012, 12:49 pm

From Wogan interview today, The backing singers who were on ''Wanna be Startin Something'' are on some of the tracks! There are no duets on the album. Neil and Chris may not return to LA now that the album is almost finished as Andrew Dawson can email the mixes for approval.

Album due in early September (so probably January 2013.. ;) )

Was really pleased to hear they're planning another tour as well!

Neil told as well they're doing something very 'secret' with the BBC Orchestra! Exciting!
Don't give me all your northern pain
Don't sell me New York in the rain
Let's leave our promises behind
Rewind and try again

Now this is something worth looking forward too. Although I really not have a clue what it's about. I love them doing orchestral stuff.

And MJ...according to wiki 8) I hope all of these persons have still as strong voices as in the past...
I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?

Something related to the Olympic Games should be very secret.

Who knows?.

I always prefer when neil does his own background vocals. theres something about uniformity when its all the same voice. personally I dont like the mixing of male and female voices, it neuters the song somehow and to my ears make it sound a bit broadway showtune.this is probably just my idiosyncracy.

30 years later

It was very fun to listen to Neil imitating MJ and he did it really good. :D

I doubt it'll be anything to do with the Olympics. They're not urban enough. Plus Neil said it's for December.

I actually think the album is going to sound like what I originally thought it would:

i hope it will not sound like concrete because it's sound boring, but i don't think so. It will be amazing anyway.

seeing as I'm still deep in my michael jackson mania, I gave wanna be starting something a listen and the background singers are very dominant in the song and they sound awesome together.
also since I am talking about MJ,its kind of dissapointing that they didnt keep "king of rome" as king of pop as it was originally planned.

its obvious that a few lyrics that neil meant for king of pop were left in such as "couldnt be more tragic"..."couldnt be more lonely"....I would even put forth that the line we glide upon the surface" was once "he glides upon the surface"...a reference to jacksons moonwalking trick.it would have been pretty poignant
