Yeah, that was the only thing I couldn’t catch. Is it even a word, or a woah oh! sound?

What a lovely, wan, semi-comatose reflection on the mundanity of it all. It's world-weary and effervescent at the same time. That contrast is one of their calling cards.

Neil's often at his best in his deliberate, cooly enunciated spoken word incarnation, and here, it seems to me, he outs himself as the boulevardier we always knew him to be, this time observing his inner self rather than those around him. I really like the ethereal, almost anaesthethised ambience and the growing excitement that develops as the song progresses. Is our disenchanted dandy about to shake off the shackles and have one last fling?

By some distance the outstanding discovery of the reissues so far - though I'm partial to Dancing in the Dusk, Reunion, and One-Way Street, it has to be said. And verbiage. That too.

Drico.

It has the feel of vintage PSB. The 'I'm looking for someone...' middle-8 even recalls Please.

At least, that is the perspective of this failed flâneur.....

I love it. Brilliant :D
It definitely should have been on the Elysium album imo. Way better than the three tracks I hate

Is there any chance - now that this is gonna end up on a FL disc - that it gets into the hands of a future producer of theirs and gets polished up for an album? It's a truly wonderful piece of music.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

Unless I’m misunderstanding you... it is on the upcoming “Elysium” reissue.

It’s Track4 on CD2 :)

(I just double-checked a minute ago on iTunes)

It would have been superb on “Elysium” :)

Just my opinion, but I’d leave “Hold On” on.

I agree re Dancing in the Dusk, Reunion, and One-Way Street. Excellent songs.

One-Way Street works particularly well alongside Girls don't cry

It's a bloody crime (when you look the way you do) that songs like Slow Motion don't make it onto what is a sublime album (Elysium) when Winner and Hold On do)
