It’s most likely not a single, just a taster for the album.vincenzosz wrote: ↑Thu 14 Nov 2019, 5:53 pmThere’s nothing wrong with this single. I mean, it’s just not my kind of music. So I’m disappointed for sure. I don’t see (so far) how this is part of a trilogy. If the third in the latest Star Wars trilogy deviated so much from the previous two I would be as equally confused and uninterested.
I definitely don’t see how this is single material, but what do I know.
Is this the only guitar featured song on the album? I was really hoping for the production stylings of Electric and Super just more downtempo. I hope this is still true.
Additionally, other than the first and last track titles the rest sound promising. Curious what the b-sides for Burning the Heather will sounds like.

It's definitely fake or at least highly computerized, because every nook and cranny is mirrored.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

Totally reminds me of parts of the Berghain usually not open for the public.

Greetings,
Retro.
Definitions may vary in the digital age, but if it gets released separately with its own unique artwork (let alone a "radio edit"!) then it's a single in my book.

The more I listen to Burning the heather, the more concerned I become we’ll get a dreary album. However, then I remembered the Roland 303 we saw in a photo a while back and I hold out hope for a few bangers on the way.

There is always a strategy with PSB https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotspot_(Wi-Fi)
Re: The New Album Info Thread
Hotspot makes me think of WIFI.
Maybe its about the need to be continuously connected to the internet irrespective of location?

Well to be fair....there is no way an upbeat album is on something with that style of cover.
and I love the cover btw. yes this is most likely going to be an elysium style album which is fine with me, I tend to get the same ratio of all time favorites per album whether its a predominantly up album or down.

According to the 6 Music interview, the album is called Hotspot as a reference to Berlin being the “hotspot” of the Cold War. The wi-fi link is secondary... It’s also a naff, brash reference to a nightclub, reflecting that side of the music. It’s purposefully less tasteful than some of their previous titles.

Re: The New Album Info Thread
As usual everyone is enjoying trying to second guess the sound of the album from the two pieces of evidence released thus far. Which we means we could all be right or completely wrong.
Either way, with Heather on it, it looks certain that it's not a banging and lasers effort, which I for one are happy with. I think they show off their creativity much more when the songwriting is pushed to the forefront, as the new track does. Of course, we all like the inclusion of the odd full on track too, and hopefully they'll be a couple of those as well.
Ultimately, we should all be grateful that they can still turn out tracks of this quality after so long.
And I love the album cover. Beautiful and haunting at the same time
