For anyone wondering.....the one woman show is doing great this week!! I've seen it a few times and the response is tremendous! Neil and Chris were there on the opening night with David Walliams. I've seen a few TV actors there and bumped into Pete Gleadall. Having seen it in Edinburgh too I can observe how it's evolving into a superb night of entertainment. The music always gets a great response.....go see if you get a chance.
Back to Trafalgar.........

It's been quite an enjoyment to constantly be able to talk about the new PSB album for 35 years now.glennjridge wrote: ↑Thu 05 Sep 2019, 11:14 pm You really have to be amazed at how prolific Neil and Chris are. REM used to release an album every year or every other year from the beginning of the 80's until end of the 90's. Johnny Marr's been prolific with his studio work and collaborations, quite impossible to keep track of. For a while New Order seemed to release a GH-collection once a year.

Hi, is anyone going on Saturday Sept 7th up for a fan-meetup that night? I am coming from the Netherlands. Would be nice to meet some fellow Petheads Greetings, Frank
Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP
I went tonight, and loved it. Really funny, music was in context, great performance.

Anyone considered that one or more of these tracks might end up on the new album? It’s what happened with Nightlife. I think it’s unlikely but you never know - Ich bin Musik or For every moment could easily be on there.

I doubt For Every Moment will Be used for anything else as it was the third track given to Alcazar years ago.
I would love for a proper Billie Trix album with her 7 songs so far, get Francis to record The Night Is The Time To Explore Who You Are A’s originally planned and two more to male a 10 track.

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP
I just don't know how to express how much I absolutely love the Musik EP. Really.
To put it into context, when Nightlife came out I wasn't able to follow PSB at all, I lost touch with new releases in general since Se A Vida E, so I only bought and listened to Nightlife when Release came out (love both). So I had no idea about the origin of those Nightlife songs, nor had I any idea about Closer To Heaven even existing. It was only years later I began to find out here and there.
Then I tried to get a copy of the Cast Recording, and it was already out of print and the OCD in me wanted a brand new copy, and those advertised as mint on websites were just too expensive for the limited interest I had in music where PSB were not singing on.
Even though since then I've been following their output quite reasonably well, I still had no idea what Musik was, who Frances Barber was, until I saw a post about the EP coming soon on an AWFUL pop forum (truly awful) and headed over the PSB website where the information was pretty scarce. And I think I forgot again about it until a few days after it was released (or actually, the day after).
I sampled the short amazon snippets and (the reason I made such a big preamble here is that) I was amazed by what I heard. I don't know exactly why, maybe it's also because I had not been listening to any PSB music or well-written / thoughtful songs in the previous months, but it was like, just want I bloody needed.
The music, wow, the lyrics, wow, Frances' voice, wow. I mean, it was wow. By the time the third song came on I was sold and immediately made the purchase. I played it the next day in my car's stereo (these days my best sound system) and I was in tears by the end of it because every song is more beautiful than the previous, and something I really love in music is instrumental melodies that go a bit over the top (sorry, I don't know the technical word) when it's strings that play the melody in the last 30 odd seconds of For Every Moment.
The view "reviews" from "fans" I read were extremely negative, and that sucks, because I think this is brilliant.
I eventually gave in and found a good copy of Closer To Heaven and I quite enjoy it, although I find that one male voice is just the type of "male actor singing musicals that doesn't really have a singing voice" that I dislike, and kills "In Denial", which is a song I find beautiful because of the lyrics and Kylie's vocals on the PSB version.
Any indication of Musik ever being issued on CD or vinyl? I'd LOVE it.

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP
I'd love to see these end up as b-sides performed by Neil as some point (beyond those that already have FF/RGR). Wishful thinking.
Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP
Likelihood that this will be the free CD with the 2020 Annually? That or Burning the heather given no CD release...so far. God I detest digital only, the cheapening of product to disposable and forgettable commodity. Blur had it right, modern life is rubbish!
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing
Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP
Given that the 4th single will likely be released in late March or early April I think any Annually CD will more likely be that single in the same way as Undertow and Agenda were in 2017 and 2019.
Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP
Frances Barber has just Tweeted that Musik will be going to NYC
