The final results are in for my poll of the past two weeks, in which I asked my site visitors to pick their three favorite Pet Shop Boys songs from their "Behaviour era." And the three songs that received the most votes were:

* "Being Boring" (no big surprise there!), chosen by 63.6% of the voters (a little more than twice as many as the runner-up),
* "This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave," picked by 31.2%, and
* "So Hard," picked by 31.0%.

To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation bar, or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page.

Continuing this series of surveys, my new poll question for the next two weeks asks you to do the same thing -- pick your three favorite PSB songs -- this time from the "Bilingual era." So please mull this over and, when you're ready, make your three choices right there on my home page.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in my previous survey! And I wish you all a wonderful two weeks ahead!

Those are three songs I chose. But it was tough to choose only three. Jealousy and Nervously could have been there too.

And now looking at the Bilingual era options, I reckon I could have picked about 10-15 options from the Behaviour era poll, over even my favourite song from the Bilingual period.

Doing it this way really brings the decline into stark focus...

I picked 3 non-album tracks. I had one or two from the album itself but Delusions of Grandeur and Hallo Spaceboy are just fantastic (I still think Hallo Spaceboy is one of the best things they've done).

By no means a decline. Some of my favourite PSB tunes are from the Paninaro '95-Bilingual-Somewhere era.
Up against it
Before
The view from your balcony
The calm before the storm

The boy who couldn't
Paninaro '95
Comes as a surprise
A red letter day

The survivors is in my all time top five. I literally “whooped” when they played it at the Albert Hall gig

I always skipped that song until I heard it in the 2012 orchestral performance. It suddenly clicked and now it's one of the highlights of the album imo.

I agree, It is a very good song, but the album version seems too simple to me, something in the rythmic tracks is missing.
The orchestral version is fully moving and added depth to the whole song.

I'm having a hard time with the Bilingual one. There are too many good ones to choose from. So far I have narrowed them down to:

Discoteca
It always comes as a surprise
To step aside
Paninaro 95
The truck driver and his mate
Hit and miss
Delusions of grandeur
Hallo spaceboy
