Maybe I'm alone in thinking like this but I've become more a fan of their B-sides and album tracks now bar the odd single here and there.
Not really liked the last few singles at all, to be honest, but songs such as Decide I absolutely love.
Hoping the album will have some more upbeat songs on it, I loved Electric and was hoping that the more dance-orientated approach was one they were going to take (which is what they are best at in my opinion) but got that badly wrong it seems!
Each to their own at the end of the day and I have seen that some people love this new single but certainly not me.
Dull and generic, not terrible but not a song I'll be listening too often, that's for sure.

Staircase looks similar but not the same, unless it has been changed since it was installed of course.

IMO, Decide is the best track from this era so far (along with its accompanying CYA mix), followed by An Open Mind.
This is the correct take.

Monkey Business, apart from being juvenile and not my taste, just sounds bad. The bass overwhelms the other instruments. It's bad.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

I love the sleeve. I feel like I’ve seen that picture before, I don’t think it’s new. Neil has more hair! I don’t think that’s Chris’s staircase.

I think the picture has been in a Literally or a Pet Text before.

I have to say it took a few listens but now I love it. Can't wait to hear the full album version. Really looking forward to the album!

It’s absolutely amazing! Fantastic single! I think it’s one of their best for last 20 years. It’s so fresh and it needs a video. I think the artwork would be more graphical, something closer to I Wouldn’t Normally Do...

It had to be the first single from HotSpot.

They’ve never released three singles before the album release, have they? I wonder what they’re cooking up, especially with a Greatest Hits tour looming.

I can’t imagine there’ll be a fourth single (Wil-o, maybe - though I don’t think it’s single material), but I’ll be happy to be wrong.

Pretty bland if you ask me, Groovy did it (the stupid but catchy thing) far better.

Burning The Heather / Decide is by far the best single combo we got so far.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

My friends and me recently have chosen "Groovy" as one of the top 10 worst track in their career.
I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?

Which ones would you choose like single material?

There is no “correct “ take !

Monkey business (radio edit)

https://www.petshopboys.co.uk/lyrics/mo ... radio-edit

Lyrics:

I’m looking for monkey business
Just playing around
I’m here on monkey business
and look what I found

Everybody get on board
I'm back in town
and I'm not leaving
’til the last joint has shut down
People tell me I'm a legend
round these parts
I start the party
and I end up breaking hearts

Bring me margaritas
champagne and red wine
We’re gonna have a party
where we all cross the line

I’m looking for monkey business
Just playing around
I’m here on monkey business
and look what I found

I’m here on funky business
Just playing around
I’m here on funky business
Look what I found

There are diamonds in the sky
that shine for me
Gonna pick them one by one
I guarantee

I’m looking for monkey business
Just playing around
I’m here on monkey business
Look what I found
Just playing around

Flew in from the city
Just got into town
Checked into a new place
I can’t seem to settle down

I’m looking for monkey business
Just playing around
(Look what I found)

Bring me margaritas
champagne and red wine
We’re gonna to have a party
where we all cross the line

I’m looking for monkey business
Just playing around
I’m here on monkey business
Look what I found

Monkey business

Not sure. Perhaps it’s a grower.

I like the Chromeo Vocoder effect. I wonder if that is Chris singing with the vocoder?
