Really can't see them ever getting a number one again. If they can't even outsell albums that are on their 2nd week of the chart then they aren't going to be able to compete with basically any new entries.
I rule. You don't.

96% streams.

So the number one album. The NUMBER ONE ALBUM sold literally 900 copies? The charts are pointless.

Number one in Sales. Number one in downloads. Number one in physical, number one in vinyl and number one in cassettes. Beaten by some act that sold 900 copies.

The problem I have with streaming is it only logs a stream. It doesn’t log whether you like it. For example I could listen to Lewis Capaldi album to see what all the fuss is about. I listen and I don’t like it. The stream still logs. Add the fact that a lot of streaming music is “on in the background” and I’d guess that 70% of those streams aren’t even actually listened to.

407 cassettes! Brilliant! 402 of those cassettes probably will never even get opened.

Screw the music industry and their bullshit! Nowadays, it's all about promoting a nobody to stardom with manipulated streams. 900 units vs 16,000? What a joke!

Yea, chart rules have changed. Yes, people listen differently and some don't get physical products.
I don't care, I love most of the album, PSB bring me joy.

100% correct. Quite funny when you actually think about it, you couldn't really make it up and regarding 'streaming' it is what it is.

Eminem's album was only released on CD this week - Monday 27th giving it a boost I guess, his download & stream of it was available Friday 17th January.

Perhaps they were tapping up Ant & Dec at the National Television Awards and are looking at finally finishing the song 'Fat northern ba ba ba baba ba b*st*rds' on the About CD.

They certainly made a good go of it with promotion, interviews, video, signed print etc and the album is no1 in five other charts: independent albums, physical, cd, vinyl, cassette.

The boys sold twice as many vinyls as Hus all formats.

It IS disappointing, but then my favourite band I’ve followed for over 30 years just got to #3 in the charts. I’m quite happy with that.
