People here tend to only think in terms of upbeat songs as singles... I think “only the dark” would be the only viable option quite frankly... I find most the songs on the album to be slight but gorgeously produced.

I think many of the upbeat songs are quirky to a degree that might be a bit offputting but what’s the difference the diehards will buy what they put out so that’s always good but it’s reaching the outside market I think that’s what we’re hoping for... And I don’t see any to doing that except possibly only the dark or monkey business or maybe happy people

Oh God. We didn't even get past album release day before the inevitable poll... Lord, save us..!

What's the deal with all the pollphobia on this forum? As long as poll is offered as an option, why not use it? If you don't like it, you have the right to not participate.

PS. "Happy people" is the most catchy and modern track on this album. An obviuos single-choice.

Take a look at the Top 40..

The general public buy and listen to shit..

Its on that basis that I've chosen "Wedding In Berlin"

Release it in the summer and for those couples who don't want to buy the album, they can just buy the single to give to the DJ to play at their wedding

Happy People is amazing. Absolutely perfect for a single release.

Only the dark, for me. Really connected with its melody and I imagine it would sound good and stand out on the radio, while still being upbeat and catchy.

I would like Will-o-the wisp with a Berlin tourist video
BUT Happy People or I Don’t Wanna would work better as singles

I Don't Wanna

Opening Title Card says "Earlier that Night"

Cut to the drag queen from the Monkey Business video contemplating going out

He's visited by many of the cast of characters from the MB vid trying to convince him to "go out"

He finally relents, puts on the attire from the MB video and the final scene is him/her walking up to a bar called "Monkey Business" in bright neon...in the background you can hear the faint tones of MB playing.

Actually, any song can be remixed, if they want, even the slow ones.

Heard a fan mix of 'burning the heather' that was excellent compared to the original.

Also, in the past, they've done 'rent', and 'this must be the place i've waited years to leave',
so anything is fair game.

This would be the approach Muse took with their videos for Simulation Theory; also Black Honey's debut album. I can easily imagine Happy People and Will o the Wisp as other parts of the "story."

Happy People is the most obvious choice and for me so far the highlight of Hotspot. It may change over time as I live with the album for a while... It has hints of Pop Kids in it, but it’s better. Lovely combination of happy-sad, with amazing euphoric middle eight.👍
