Re: Rumor: Electric tour continues late March
On this very day last year, the boys announced the first proper "Electric" tour dates for 2013. When do you think they'll start announcing new gigs for 2014? With the Turing project's premiere due sometime in late 2014, I heavily expect them to do the majority of the shows in the first half of 2014. That would mean they'd have to start announcing the first concerts throughout the next couple of weeks I guess.

Has it already been announced somewhere that it's this way round?West End Boy wrote:With the Turing project's premiere due sometime in late 2014

As far as I know Neil said it would premiere in late 2014 in some interview.Riikka wrote:Has it already been announced somewhere that it's this way round?West End Boy wrote:With the Turing project's premiere due sometime in late 2014
/edit: Found it! In a early 2013 Q&A with "Stereogum", Neil said this about the Turing project: "We performed a section of it last year called “He Dreamed Of Machines,” but we just finished the entire thing and I think it’s going to premiere next summer."

I thought it was already known it's hoping to be performed on the 60th anniversary of his death, 7th June?

Re: Rumor: Electric tour continues late March
So the plan is more US dates in early 2014, then some European dates in july/august?
I really hope we'll see some regular one-off concerts as well, i really don't like them performing on festivals.

By all accounts MGMT didn't think it was great!Corina wrote:They could do together Kids, that Synthpop mix was great, so why not!BugBoy wrote:Listed next to MGMT, lol, awkward!lucienchardon wrote:Looks like they are playing Coachella in April:

I heard the same back then - what a pity. Maybe MGMT have changed their mind in the meantime!BugBoy wrote:By all accounts MGMT didn't think it was great!Corina wrote:They could do together Kids, that Synthpop mix was great, so why not!BugBoy wrote:Listed next to MGMT, lol, awkward!

What's the story with that mix anyway? Wasn't a Pethead yet back then so I missed it, but I LOVE it, it adds a touch of class to the song.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

As far as my memory goes MGMT wanted PSB to remix another track but PSB wanted to remix Kids so they did 2 mixes of Kids. MGMT didn't use it but PSB put the 2 remixes up on their old website for fans to hear and MGMT asked for them to be removed. I only ever heard the PSB side of the story, I think its in one of the fanzines somewhere, I believe Neil describes it as an 'odd experience'.NikacP0kac wrote:What's the story with that mix anyway?
