Asking for a buddy who got hold of a copy of the very rare Phillipines "baseball glove sleeve" 12" of "Opportunities". However, his copy is wrapped with sort of an adhesive cellophane wraparound that can't be removed without damaging the sleeve. The seller of the item claims that all copies came with this cellophane and he wants to know whether the seller is telling the truth or not. What do you think, PSB collection experts?

I've just checked my copy and it does have the cellophane. So it sounds like the seller is correct. I never noticed it before as it was shrinkwrapped in another loose layer.

Thanks!
Does the cellophane seem semi-adhesive, badly cut and cello taped on the inside of the sleeve?
Basically, it looks very amateurishly self-made, not company manufactured. Seems like an odd thing to do.

It does. It's as though the sleeve has been wrapped in sticky back plastic but over time it's either disintegrated or come unstuck. I'm sure it will be a genuine copy. All the Philippine releases haven't faired that well to be honest.

It did!
Does anybody else out there have a copy and is it the same also? Would be nice to know if they were all manufactured like this. Seems like a strange thing to do.

Yes, all these PH copies (from PSBs first years) have these plastic lamination on it! It was quiet common there to produce the sleeves that way! (guess it's because of the climatic terms there).
I assume it was just a glossy paper in the 80s, when you bought such a PH 12", but over the years the borders and edges of the sleeve getting weird.
So, in fact, these glossy PH copies are real!

I have one too - bit tatty but the laminated cover is there.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.

It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.
