"Introspective"

#1 Post by York Minster » Thu 30 Sep 2010, 6:11 am

So talking about the forum itself; the way I ususally get onto the forum is by typing "Pet Shop Boys Forum" on google. And ususally the first thing to come up is the forum. But right now a whole bunch of pages have topped it. Does that mean they got more hits?
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

I access this site the same way and I agree this site used to be listed first but has now dropped in the list of results - can't believe Lidia's site or the Proboard site get more hits than this one :shifty:

Quite simply, they don't.

What boosts them up the rankings are all the spam members i.e all the registrations that are generated by the spam bots that roam the internet and look for forums to join and post their wares and dubious links on.
These are then picked up as activity by the google spiders, and reported back and the algorithms and listings are drawn up.
Even if those members are never activated their activity is still counted.

Must be very tiresome for someone with 2350+ posts to manually type the name of this forum in Google every time...

I'm surprised this isn't top of every single website/forum ever created. Especially with the amount of dross on here, taking up server space

For the record:

we changed somethings on the site, so you always will be redirect to http://www.petshopboys-forum.com regardless what you enters in the address list of your browsers (http://petshopboys-forum.com or petshopboys-forum.com).

So in the end all email notifications now will send with the correct links for all, who have notifications enabled. Maybe some of you have had probs with that in the past!
