Anyway, this thing about 5 epic songs (one being "Numb") and 4 electro-pop songs, all of them with Trevor Horn, sounds like an almost finished promising album.

Wouldn't it be good if those 'epic' songs were produced by Faithless (Sister Bliss & Rollo).
Bliss, in particular, is very good in producing 'epic' tune, IMO.

That was only done as a jam and while they were planning a Trevor Horn produced E.P. and anyway, it's not 1988 anymore.

Sounds good, doesn't it? I am strongly hoping for a 2 Cd's set.....and for some Drum'n'bass tracks

That is Santanas who does some website stuff for Rebeca and thought it would be fun to put the 3 of them together!

We've already had that with the Armstrong productions on Nightlife... good stuff but I doubt they'd return to it... there's something about the whole easy-listening over-produced Faithless/Mocheba/MassiveAttack-type sounds that never quite amounts to anything solid ... I hope by "epic" they mean a classic trashy pop sound

Mentioning Faithless and Morcheeba in one breath? I think they sound rather different. The easy laid-back style of Morcheeba wouldn't fit the Pet Shop Boys very well. And as for Faithless: I really hope I will be proved wrong, but something tells me they've had their best time. I say this as a Faithless fan, who was very disappointed by their latest album and the new tracks on their Greatest Hits cd....

Yeah Mocheba are sweet but they do sometimes suffer from the over-produced thing, which Faithless do quite a bit!

I have 1 Morcheeba album, and I don't consider it over-produced. I guess tastes differ, but we're slowly drifting off-topic

I just look forward to the new Trevor Horn-produced PSB-tracks. The 2 singles he produced, are both in my Top 10 of favourite PSB singles (see 'Rank the singles' topic)
