Re: The track number 8
Further listening version of "I want to wake up" it's wonderful...Aaron wrote:I agree with you... often tracks 8 and 9 on a lot of albums are throwaways. Though I really do like I Want To Wake Up, especially the Further Listening version.nickname wrote:Hum, it's interesting to see the "standard" psb albums (Please, Actually, Behaviour, Very....). I've always seen the track NUMBER 8 in all their albums is one of the weakest one. Of course, it depends on what kind of songs you like most but I think so.
Please - Violence
Actually - I want to wake up
Behaviour - Nerviously
Very - One and one make five
Bilingual - Up against it
Nightlife - The only one
Release - Here

Sorry to correct you, but you're obviously confusing "weakest" for "strongest" here. I thought I'd point that out, just in case someone thinks you're being serious!Zeus On The Loose wrote:The only one may not be particularly good but the weakest track on Nightlife is Footsteps.

It's almost frightening how much I agree with youZeus On The Loose wrote:
Violence and I Want To Wake Up are both brilliant and are not the weakest tracks on the albums. If we have to have a weakest track on Please and Actually those would be Later Tonight and Hit Music.
The only one may not be particularly good but the weakest track on Nightlife is Footsteps.
One And One Make Five is not too bad and it's stronger than e.g To Speak Is A Sin
There are tons of worse tracks on Release than Here.
So basically, I don't know what you're on about.
"Unprofessional? Us? Sir. Might I with due respect remind you that Mister Vandemar and myself burned down the City of Troy? We brought the Black Plague to Flanders. We have assassinated a dozen kings, five popes, half a hundred heroes and two accredited gods. Our last commission before this was the torturing to death of an entire monastery in sixteenth century Tuscany. We are utterly professional." - Mr Croup

Not that anyone cares what I think or what anyone else thinks really, I'm going to do this simply for my own enjoyment. Going to do my favourite track, least favourite track on each album.
1. West End Girls/Suburbia
2. Rent/Hit Music (though the re-master is much better)
3. Domino Dancing/It's Alright
4. The End Of The World/Jealousy
5. Go West/The Theatre
6. It Always Comes As A Surprise/The Survivors
7. Radiophonic/The Only One
8. Home & Dry/The Night I Fell In Love
I think that's all. However it should be noted that my very least favourite track wasn't mentioned, What Keeps Mankind Alive. It's very hard to choose my favourite but depending on the day, it's either Domino Dancing (Disco Mix), West End Girls (Please version) or Miserablism (Moby Electro Mix). Also seems any songs starting with the word "The" are doomed to suck. Except The End Of The World, of course.
