I think the movie in question is called Sommersturm. The movie itself is pretty good, but the version of Go West which if I remember is played at the very end of the movie, is a terrible version. I think they may have even realised that themselves, as it doesn't appear on the soundtrack CD.

I don't know if it was part of the soundtrack but the song was included in the report and it was the PSB single version.
