Howabout an SACD/DVD-A release? Also, was Closer to heaven released on vinyl?

Jon, its just a nostalgia thing. I mean, really, who doesn't own a CD player?

Its actually very difficult to buy vinyl outside of very large or very specialist music stores. I mean, your local HMV might have 'X&Y' on vinyl if you're lucky, but thats it.

Have you never been in HMV Oxford St or the shops on Berwick St? Even HMV Manchester has a few hundred Vinyl Albums for sale.

I don't doubt that the cd is the leading format but vinyl has its place and I know people who still won't touch cd unless they have to. I think if Disco 3 was released on LP then Potemkin would be viable as it should sell similiar or more copies than Disco 3 did.

Zeus, I got your joke but like I said you buy stuff by them and then never listen to it!! Therefore, how can you mock someone who would like a vinyl release?

Sorry, what are you denying here? 99% of the UK population will shop on their local high street, not on HMV Oxford Street. Outside of all the the very LARGE or very SPECIALIST music stored vinyl is simply not available.

Vinyl accounts for a tiny fraction of music sales, even in the largest stored 95% + of sales will be CD based. What point is it exactly that you are trying to make?

I beg to differ on the availability of vinyl, but my point is that when you look at the sort of albums that are released on vinyl Potemkin could easily be released on this format. I also don't consider independent music stores VERY SPECIALIST, to me something very specialist is a shop that sells just US Alt-Country/Roots or a store that sells just experimental/electronica.

The Disco series by definition are collections of club mixes meant for the dancefloor, hence released on vinyl.

I didn't mock the fact that someone would like a vinyl release. I just found the 'Oh MY GOD why isn't there a vinyl release!!!???' attitude, when vinyl releases are neither essential or sell a lot and most people don't have the equipment to play them anymore, especially for a non vinyl friendly PSB side project, a bit drama queen-ish.

Well your right but how much stuff have they released over the years that hasn't been essential!! I'd like a vinyl release, but maybe thats because I'm one of those sad PSB collector's!

My grandma would be glad for a 78 RPM vinyl edition of it
