PSB-Discography.com updated

#1 Post by TheGardner »

The first big update after 18 months is done! In the last one and a half year we tried to put the complete discography into a database again to get the old 'Lazlo' style back ... and it completly failed another time

I now returned to my old design (which only handle simple txt.pages), so a comfortable search engine still is missing there :?

A smaller discography with all major PSB items and pictures will appear on Pet Shop Boys O N L I N E later this year, cause we are planning to close Pet Shop Boys.tv and my German page PSP-OnPage forever.

I still have two big lists (from Andrea/Italy and Alistair/UK) in the queue - they will follow with the next update!

And thanks for cutting the Metropolis Mastering fakes...

Thank you for such an extraordinary effort, Steffen! :)

God, I’ve had a look and found this:

Steffen, do you have confirmed that the commercial cd is copy protected?

not really, but I saw this 'copy controlled' sign on the promo CD (Potemkin02) and so I assume the regular one also will have copy potection....

Thanks for your answer! Actually, under the circumstances (EMI Classics release, manufacturing problems) I think you’ll be right. :( But if you have to make a little correction on the Discograpy next week I’ll be sooo happy (please don’t get angry).

speaking from Potemkin. Seems there exists 3 different copies of the promo CD:

Code: Select all

CD: 2005 NL (Parlophone; Potemkin01) [promo; 18 Jul 2005; copy protected; cardboard slv.]
CD: 2005 NL (Parlophone; Potemkin02) [UK promo; 14 Aug 2005; copy protected; jewel case; "Tennant/Lowe"]
CD: 2005 NL (Parlophone; 00946 335033 2 8) [EU promo; 14 Aug 2005; copy protected; jewel case; "Battleship Potemkin"]
CD: 2005 NL (Parlophone; 7243-5-87445-0 2) [copy protected]

Is that right, "Potemkin01" is the standardpromo just in a cardboard sleeve. Anyone seen one?

yes good question!!!! I can't remember who telled me this! I also can't remember if someone really talked about this early promo (from the french record shop) called 'Potemkin01'.

Desperatly waiting for someone, who can confirm any of these details!!! To be honest: I have the strange feeling, only two of these versions exist => The UK market one (stated "Tennant/Lowe") and the one, which stated "Battleship Potemkin" and was made for the EU market... (both in Jewel Case)
