Arranging Mp3 Collection

Hi peeps

Most of you must have PSB mp3s in your collection. (so do i ;) )

Could i know how you have sorted them out? For a normal band this should be OK, but with the PSB and millions of their mixes, its a bit tricky.

While browsing through some guy's collection via a p2p software, i found that he had SO many songs and mixes of the psb that he arranged it by alphabetical order..

I'm thinking of doing the same, but then it would ruin the effect of even looking at the names of the songs and the chronogical order.. (like Behaviour is really nice when all the songs can be selected and played in order,etc...)

Help?!?!

I've always dreamt of managing to do it chronologically, Vince. It would look more impressive.

I have them arranged by album on my MP3-player. Remixes, B-sides, live tracks etc. is filed under the relevant album, making an extended "Further listening", so to speak.

Rabagast, do you feel you have any problems when you have arranged it your way?

Rabagast, do you feel you have any problems when you have arranged it your way?
I find it easy to catalogize the songs this way. Then, playlists can be created in all sorts of order, and saved to the machine ....

I only prefer the following methods:

1. Chronologically - means several folder (i.E. Albums, Singles, Bootlegs, Live...)

2. The complete archive - means:

Adapted Songs (all tracks which are original versions of Tracks/snippets PSB take for their productions)
Albums (the complete album collection)
Bootlegs (all Bootlegs)
Collaborations (PSB collabs with other artists)
Covers (cover versions of PSB tracks)
Demos (Demo material...)
Fan Remixes (all remixes by fans and non-official remixer)
Interviews (Interviews recorded from radio and TV)
Live (all recordings of Live appearances)
Megamixes (all megamixes)
Mics (miscellaneous stuff)
Pictures (pics, CD/Vinyl/MC cover and magazine stuff)
Projects (Battleship/Closer2Heaven...)
Remixes (all official remixes from Arrested till Young Offender)
Sampled (sampled stuff of PSB tracks done by other artists)
Software (PSB related software)
Tributes (all PSB tribute projects Orchestra versions/fan tributes...)
Videos (the complete video collection / live and TV recordings)

I make all kinds of PSB Mixes. This one here is Called 'Hit and Miss' aka 'Slow Jams'

A few doubts, hope you dont mind clarifying
1)So psb remixes of walking on thin ice, mope, jerusalem, hooked on radiation etc, come under 'Collaborations'?
2)Where do the b-sides after Alternative go?
3)Where do i put the single cds?

I've made Definitive PopArt which has every A: side ever from both CDs and PopArt DVD in order to get best quality and with the correct single mixes on it. I even have a bonus disc like PopArt containing Miracles and Flamboyant singles material and video!!! :) And is chronological! Even has IDOSAC and PCB (bonus track)!!! What a rubbish protection that was!

Using Nero 6, I have burned all copyrights and info on the tracks to CD, so you know what they are all called when playing in Windows XP SP2.

One disc is more-or-less the London stuff rearranged into order, rest of Disco3 including the fixed track and the vinyl Disco3 material...

I keep meaning to make PopArt Alternative sometime.
Just it will take absolutely ages and PopArt was remastered which helped tremendously. Otherwise they need work on once ripped from the singles in some cases.

I've made Heart louder and clearer from Discography and ripped the video audio too. It makes me grin listening to that one...

Thats cool, Mole! As for me, i just ended up burning 2 full (4.7)dvds - one with PSB songs and one with videos. But the irritating part is that i still keep downloading psb stuff and they get all mixed up...

I have two dvds - 1 with A wavs and one with B wavs! :)
I haven't downloaded any... :)
