I don't see why people claim that the album will be delayed! It hardly happens.

Behaviour was meant to come out in the Spring, as was Very, Bilingual and Nightlife. Hopefully given long period Spring it will be

Spring 2006 is far too late anyway - Most bands can do an album in half the time they take. If only they'd stop doing all those side projects...

I *love* side projects. They also did them around 1989-1990 and then came up with their best album so far. Also I prefer them to take some time to produce the album properly, rather than releasing inferior productions like Here.

They had 4 years before Release, and then they came up with 'The Night I fell in love' etc...Actually on the other hand took one year and had 'It's a sin', 'Heart', 'Rent' etc. So there doesn't seem to be any empiric evidence of a connection between length of gap between albums and album quality

Yeah but! When was Rent etc actually written? In the 30 years before PSB got together? So if they are going to produce another album as good as Actually, the album will be delayed until 2032

Yeah but! When was Rent etc actually written? In the 30 years before PSB got together? So if they are going to produce another album as good as Actually, the album will be delayed until 2032

It's not a fact, because it's not true. Nightlife came out in October 1999 and Release in April 2002. That makes only 2 1/2 years, making it actually the shortest interval between studio albums since Introspective/Behaviour. Plus there was also the musical released in between.

Hmm...I had written a lengthy reply to this but it seems to have vanished...suffice it to say then that I admit I was wrong - you are right. I don't know where I got the idea that Release took 4 years to make from. With that premise gone, my theories about correlations or lack of same seem to hit the ground and I must humbly retire...I'll come back when I've had some rest.

Just because there is a gap of '*enter years here* doesn't actually mean it took that long to do. The album could have been made 15 years ago and locked away somewhere, just like the Peel sessions.
