Robbie William's "Tripping", produced by PSB?

I recall some rumours weeks ago regarding a possible collaboration of PSB into the new album of Robbie Williams.

Now I listened to his first single, and I think that it really sounds like a song produced by Pet Shop Boys (well, it's more like "A Bob Marley cover by David Bowie, produced by PSB). The rhythms, percussions and bass remind me of songs from their first albums.

I guess if the collaboration was true we should officially know about by now, but what do you think anyway?

No it's not and it doesn't sound anything like PSB.

funnily enough one of the b-sides is co-written by a C. Heath, wonder if Literally will be delayed as it was being worked on

Ok. I still think that the bassline is very PSB-ish, but I guess you are right. Thank you for answering.

I like RW stuff usually, but this sounds to me (not heard it yet) like another 'all about drugs' song. His material seems to be this, sex and love. But then who isn't recording the same. I admire him though for battling on and winning against hard times...

Is rumoured he isn't going to be No 1 this time. So perhaps he'll beat PSB to performing 'Down the dumper'? Though I hope not, be nice to see him actually getting somewhere, but no doubt if he did, the paparazzi would bug him until they'd spoilt it.

Actually Paparazzi would make a good song title N & C!!!

Doubtfully. The lyrics to the b-side was probably written while Heath hung out with Williams for 18 months - Williams had started working on the album back then.

At first listening it's a striking song, then you discover it's much more conventional that it seems. Anyway I could see PSB performing it as a live cover like they did with "Girls and boys"-that wacky falsetto should attract Neil

And the video is fantastic.
