Love, love is strange
Lots of people take it for pain
Once you've got it, you never wanna quit
After you've had it, you're havin' awful fits
Love is strange, love is strange

Hey, Don?
What, Phil?
How would you call your baby home?
Well, if I needed her real bad, I guess I would call her like this

Baby, oh sweet baby
My sweet baby, please come home
Yeah, that ought to bring her home, Don!

People don't understand
They think love is money in the hand
Your sweet lovin' is better than a kiss
When you left me, sweet kisses I miss
Love is strange, love is strange
Same song as Mickey & Sylvia's and Peaches & Herb.

It depends what he meant by "tragic", of course. In PSB-speak it tends to mean "woefully bad". :P

I've always assumed the line "To fall in love, is it so uncool?" is a reference to New Order's 1984 single 'Thieves Like Us', which has the line "It's called love, and it's so uncool".

Must ask that question for the 2027 'Annually' Q&As.

You know, those lines in IWTWU and Thieves Like Us both always sounded so "familiar" and you totally nailed it. I'd be truly surprised if this wasn't the case.
