Dusty - The Original Pop Diva ...

... is the name of a major new $6m musical being produced in Australia and opening in Melbourne in January 2006, and then to tour the country. The blurb on the offical homepage http://www.dustythemusical.com/ makes mention of the contribution of the Pet Shop Boys to her comeback in the 80's. Which of course begs the question, which if any of the songs they did with her will make it into the musical? What have I done to deserve this? is the most obvious I suppose. "In Private" perhaps? And will Neil and Chris be portrayed as actual characters in the musical I wonder?

In addition, the ABC (our version of the BBC) will be screening an 8 part documentary series about Dusty's life and the making of the musical sometime in 2006 http://www.screentime.com.au/News0905Dusty.html
I wonder if Neil has been interviewed as part of this, as he has in the past for doco's on Dusty's life.

Perhaps the boys are planning on attending the opening of the musical in Melbourne in January. Which would go someway to explaining why a certain promoter here in Sydney is currently trying to negotiate to have them do a series of concerts in OZ in early 2006.

They make a little go along way.. very Minimal but Fundamental.
