Best release in ages

The boys are getting a lot of good press. Things are being built for this release in a way ive not seen in a long time. Bands are being highlighted covering their work. Early albums are recieving praise in snobby, "now" publications. Could it be that the Boys are all of a sudden acieving a new status of cool in british media circles?

Q, who are notorious for being interested only in the next big thing appear to be looking forward to this release as much as me.

The anticipation levels for this album far outweigh any in recent years and barring any unusual foibles of the boys ie costumes, odd videos etc this is destined to be a number one album and may even produce that elusive 5th number one single.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed for this resurgence to keep gathering momentum!

I hope so, but I very much doubt it. Its one thing for critics to say they are great, but another thing for the general record buying public who sneer to buy their records.

Well the times have changed and in the wake of the the electro revival and all those new bands (and madge) going 80s retro, a new album from one of the "legends of the era" (they are) comes perfectly timed. The PSB sound is more cool now than in many, many years.

Adding to that, the lyrics are appearently sharper than ever, and all those retro keyboards relaunched as softsynths have obviously inspired Mr. Lowe (as can be heard in recent records). They appear playful again, and they havent been seen as that since Very.

We'll see. It's just a bit of hype at the moment from one source who has dubious musical taste. Not all hype is justified. Just pick any NME in the last few years and you get the picture.

Not to mention that Q has a reputation of loving an album, then 6 months later when the album is actually out and flops, they'll quickly get in line to flog it....

I hate press releases. Although, I am very excited about Fundamental.
