Is there anyone who thinks Nightlife is the PSB' best album?

my favourite 2 are Nightlife, then Release. Its a shame people just don't 'get it' and write these 2 albums off.

I've always maintained that I think Release is probably their most cohesive album as a whole, even though if you go track by track, it is probably their weakest. As a whole, it really works for me.

Nightlife has more standout tracks than Bilingual, but Bilinguals worst (Up against it/To step aside) are far more superior than Nightlife's worst (Happiness is an option/Vampires)....

Any album with a song as dire as "Happiness is an Option" isn't going to be rated as my favourite. I think Nightlife ranks high chiefly amongst those who came to the boys later.

Behaviour will always be superior IMO. Infact all their albums apart from Release rate higher in my list.

Actually,
fantastic cover, awesome singles & Kings Cross.

Albums should be memorable for their singles,
Nightlife was dismal for singles - IKWYW... and their second worst single ever New York city boy.

almost without exception I like their newer stuff. I really never listen to anything before bilingual. I think they are making much better music now even though they might have been more succesful chart wise back then.

I think "Very" is the best album. I think that "The Theatre" is a real masterpiece....
Then "Actually", "Nightlife" and "Release" (I love "Here")....

I think a lot the songs on Very sounds terribly dated. It has not stood the test of time as well as their other albums. No way!

nah, don't agree with that.

Stuff like Liberation, A Different Point Of View, Can You Forgive Her, Go West etc still sound as current as any other PSB track around today...

Drunk was fantastic,
closer to heaven was at one point one of myfav tracks,
boy strange sounds a bit rushed and I always feel that when I listen to the album it goes

Disco - traditional psb - quiet - ruhed - sad song - anthem - odd track athe end that they had no idea ere to put it so itll fit onat the end!

also i think most the b-sides were shite apart fromLIES

sail away - i wish the song would!
silver age - what the hell were they thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats just my opionon though

i prefer ACTUALLY to be honest
