Hello all,

I remember I read (when Release US 2CD was released) some messages that the audio quality of the bonus disc isn't excellent (reportedly sounded like some low-bitrate compressed audio). Can anyone say his/her opinion on that?

If it is "officially" of an inferior quality, then I'd like to know if the above-mentioned tracks on HAD & I get along singles (DVD releases) are OK (better) sound-wise.

I have two copies of the US 2 CD release, and there is nothing wrong with the sound quality on either. In fact, I remember thinking at the time that the sound quality may have been slightly superior (on CD2) to the previous releases... especially the CTH Slow Version.

I remember something about the B&J mix of Home and dry being converted from MP3? dunno if it's true though.

Just loaded the track into Adobe Audition and YES there is a dramatic drop in the higher frequencies. Simular to the ones which you get with MP3s.

Nightlife is just mastered a bit too soft. It also has also some drop in the higher frequencies but not as big as H&D

CTH is fine though.

I was the one to gripe originally. I hope it did not scare off to many people. It is just the Home and Dry mix that is compressed quality. The rest is great and the only place you can get Nightlife on CD. I dunno the reasoning behind the inferior quality for the blank and jones mix, they probably used the wrong CD master. Many companies do preview cdrs etc copies to decide on a track listing using a variety of mastered and unmastered sources. In this case the blank and jones mix was done way after everything else, and was probably added at the last minute. Still the mix is available on disco 3, so no real loss. I have also wondered if the mastering error was on all four limited editions or only on some copies. As I believe there were four different pressings there may be a difference. I have the red flower and have not heard if the others are the same.
