US release?

#1 Post by VinnyM27 »

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet but what are the plans if any for a US release. While Sancutary didn't do much for promotion of the last two PSB releases they put out, they were at least out there and are still in print and available. Will they be releasing "Fundamental" as well or does PSB want to really push the album in America and release it through a bigger label that will actually help them promote it. Have they said anything about this. I would be really surprised if it isn't released in the US since all of their other studio albums have been. And hopefully they will release the special edition here as well. Even if I have to buy an expensive import, it'll be worth it. Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen any mention of a U.S. release date for the single or the album. Sanctuary Records still has Disco 3 for PSB in their page.

That's a pity. It would be great to have a U.S. release of 'I'm with Stupid'. The U.S. doesn't have all those idiotic rules about what can be on a cd single or the time constraints so they could put all the remixes on one cd single.

I might be wrong, but it seems like ther've been a change in the UK lately, I've seen a LOT of "CD 2":s with 5-6 mixes with almost 40 mins of music!

Only 1 track in various remix are allowed. But if they want better singles sales they should throw away all these stupid rules except for 1.
Only 1 format per single and your free on remixes bonus tracks or whatever.

[quote="TheGardner"]so hopefully the 'Stupid' maxi-cd will have all mixes on one disc!

That would be great. Maybe the Euro maxi CD will be different and will have everything on it including the b-sides:

I'm with Stupid
I'm with Stupid (mix 1)
I'm with Stupid (mix 2)
I'm with Stupid (mix 3)
.
.
.
I'm with Stupid (mix n)
The Resurrectionist
Girls don't cry

I think the last Goldfrapp maxi cd single had different tracklistings for the UK and Europe. I'll buy all the formats anyway but it would be good to see them release a single in the U.S. At least they'd be on the Billboard dance charts.

Don't think 'Girls Don't Cry' will appear on the maxi-CD! It's all a trick by EMI, so the people will buy the 7" single!

But maybe we'll get the track in CD quality from the Japanese 'Fundamental' edition!

There a 3 - 12" Remix Promo's due out also on 3rd April -

Also 15th May a further 2 - 12" Remix Promo's. I gather these will be to lead the combined release of 'Fundamental/Fundamentalism'

More details as and when i know more.

how can they have a "world tour" and be releasing their "best record in a decade" and not have a US release (banging my head against the wall)
