I like it to a point(y hat), though as a fan of PSB (and not Little Britain), I'd naturally prefer more of Neil and Chris than anyone else. It looks as if a lot of effort went into it, and I'm going to enjoy spotting all the replayed scenes from the old videos. Were Take That the last band to be tied up in a video? I'm slightly relieved to hear that David is apparently trying to look gormless! My favourite bit from a first look was the hats floating down from the ceiling.

"If you want to buy a pet, you go to a pet shop. If you want to buy a pet shop, you go to a pet shop shop. If you want to buy a pet shop shop, you're just being silly."

So if it´s your favourite pet shop shop then it´s pet pet shop shop and if it´s being owned by some boys then it´s pet pet shop shop boys.
Shall I continue ? And if those pet pet shop shop boys have boys those boys are pet pet shop shop boys´ boys. And if those boys are you favourites then it´s pet pet pet shop shop boys´ boys
Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?

Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

Grrrr, anyone got an alternative link to the vid than the one on popjustice or the official site, neither of the links seem to work. I had downloaded the video onto my mum's pc over Easter, but now am back home and want to see it again... booohoooo! Someone release me from this misery!

It's all over the torrents aswell, so you can get it there too.

This is the best PSB video in years, and this song will be the biggest PSB hit in years - ESPECIALLY if they include the video on one of the formats.

Why is this the best PSB video in years? Because it plays on the legacy of PSB. A potted history of the band at the start followed by the humorous recycling of numerous classic Pet Shop Boy idioms (the reputation for silly costumes, the reputation of Chris as the moody one who stands there playing the keyboard and not much else, the reputation for over-complex stage shows).

I think the public view of PSB in recent years has been that they were rapdily disappearing up their own artsy-fartsy arses. This video goes a long way to redressing that by showing that the boys have a sense of humour and can poke fun at themselves.

Matt Lucas's "I'm Chris Lowe" at the end always cracks me up. And the song is a real grower that gets better with each listen.

at firstI felt it hard to watch as it was difficult to see neils words coming out of someone elses mouth, but then I relaxed and it got really cool and complicated with all the stuff goin on with the set.

Respected internet music writer Arjan - HUGE PSB supporter btw- at arjanwrites.com:

"Everybody is linking to the new Pet Shop Boys video for their new single "I'm With Stupid." I'm totally underwhelmed by this video. The ending is somewhat clever but the Little Britain spiel is overdone and just too cute."

Yeah, deadly cute. Maybe it's a defiant idea- let's make this just a video that is comprehensible only to Little Britain fans. Fairly unsexy.

It makes sense in the wake of news that a US release of Fundamental has collapsed, and they are still in negotiations with Rhino Records- a tiny specialty label- to actually get Fundamental released here.

Not sure if it's been noted elsewhere here, but failure to get a US release is a huge fall from grace. "Release" sold deservedly rotten, and now no one wants "Fundamental".

We'll see how this will spin: "Oh we don't want American sales because of Bush.."

Seriously though, it's quite a fall from the commercial grace that PSB have enjoyed since 1985. Retailers don't want their record. That must sting.

not to sound selfish, but for me, I generally buy the import anyways and while I hope they have success obviously, I tend to only be concerned about me getting and liking the CD. while I hope they get great distribution and hits and all that I really dont get too deep into it.

I've been watching the Hits all morning and it hasn't been shown yet. I'm starting to go mad, there's only so much Pussycat Dolls and Pink I can take in one day!
