Minimal

#1 Post by westendboy87 »

I've just heard Minimal. What a wonderful track. I don't know how they described this as vibey electro though, I'd actually compare the beat to Flamboyant. Oh and that guitar at the end is just so New Order, my God.

02:24 -->02:34 sounds like Kraftwerk...

Yes I can see where you're coming from with that. This song has some pretty crazy synths, the one sounds similar to the synth used in the Parkinson version of It's A Sin.

Not bad, would love to see chris mime his way trough all these synth loops :-). The kraftwerky-bridge is pretty good. The ending is a bit New Order like with the guitars and strings. Can't wait to here some more stomping remixes of this, cause its not really a disco stomper yet

As I said earlier, the synths kinda remind me of DuMonde - Tomorrow, with the tweaking and squibbling (during the chorus, that is).

I really don't know what I like best about this song. The vocoded chorus, the nonsensical brilliant lyrics, the way he sings them, the strings, the New Order-hook, the production. It's the quintessential PSB song and I've been waiting for a song like this since... Very?

God, if only Trevor Horn had produced Please...

As i said before from listening to the short clip that i will not like it. Now hearing the full version proved it.

I hate the way MINIMAL is sung and the parts:

Light and shade
time and space

And the whole track is so weakly and flat. There is no huge final like popjustice said and the new order guitars are also not so dominant.

The only thing I'm not fond of is the ending of the chordlines and melodies. In Integral as wel as Minimal , they end in a lower note, making it all melancholy sounding (PSB trademark of course). Try something more uplifting next time boys :roll:

I REALLY like this. Very atmospheric. I think I'm With Stupid was the right choice for first single though.

Did anyone notice the baseline is identical to the Sorry remix?

I agree with Kermit, end is like NewOrder.....and it's a good song, but I'm with Stupid is a better first single I think
