Thankfully haven't heard any leaks yet.....

#1 Post by jmh »

maybe i'm in the minority here, but i haven't heard any of the leaks thus far, and whats more, when i have seen them on the net, i've ignored them. whilst it's interesting and sometimes amusing to read the posts about the leaks, i'd much rather wait until the day the album is released and then immerse myself in a whole album of songs i haven't heard yet. and then discuss them here endlessly, obviously.

is anyone else doing the same?

I've only listened to I'm with Stupid(obviously), Luna Park, Integral and Minimal. They will satiate me for the next three weeks.

I don't really see the point. If you're a big fan you want those songs as soon as you can get them. Some might prefer to wait until all tracks are leaked but longer than that does not make sense. By the time you're ready to discuss the tracks it will be old news around here

I wish they didn't release any promos and that the whole world had to wait until the release date (like with Harry Potter) but since they insist on handing out promos to friends, journalists, people "in the know" etc. I want it too :) And it's their own fault when it leaks...Though of course as usual I will be buying every conceivable format of the album and singles they decide to release (or not release as the case may be).
It was a cough that carried him off. It was a coffin they carried him off in.

I'm with you here! I only heard 'I'm with stupid' before it came on the official site, but haven't heard ANY of the others going around. I KNOW they are coming....so I'm happy to wait. It will be like an indulgence when I eventually get my hands on the CD, slip it on , sit back and listen to it all for the first time with pure pleasure.

maybe i'm just too nostaligic for the thrill of buying a new psb album on the day of release and for every song to be a new and wonderful surprise; otherwise the almost insidious 'drip drip' effect of leaks might potentially mean that the album is such a known quantity that all one has to enjoy is the artwork.

i think that if anything, the more of a fan one is, the easier it is to wait; good things and all that.......

Same here, I was desparate to hear them a while ago but never did. I only know I'm with stupid. But it will be better for us FEW members who haven`t heard it yet cos when we get it it`ll be a surprise rather than oh I`m a bit bored of this now anyway.

I'll wait until the whole thing leaks. I don't want to hear it in dribs and drabs.
Woof.

Yes, me. I've made a conscious decision this time not to listen to any leaks, samples etc. So, the only track I've heard so far is I'm with stupid. I'm not one to get into arguments about tracks anyway, so being too late to discuss them doesn't concern me.

The thought of taking delivery of the actual CD, reading the booklet and hearing 11 new tracks in one sitting is something I'm really looking forward to.

I have only hears I'm with stupid, and intend to keep it that way until the 27th May- yes i'm not even going to listen to the album the day it comes out!

The reason for this is that i'm away on business that week and don't want to listen to the CD on crap speakers in some hotel room when i'm tired and pre-occupied. So, I'm going to hang on until the weekend when i can sit down with a cup of tea and listen to Fundamental with no interuptions from beiginning to end.

Serious self discipline is required, and it remains to be seen whether i can manage it, but i'm going to give it a go!

Wish me luck!
I'm always waiting...

I completely agree with you.
I love the net, the instant info and all but I miss the old days when a new album was actually new.

It spoils completely the first listening if you listen to those leaks. That´s why I don´t want to listen to any of them. I'm with stupid is still the only one.

i'm glad a few people here feel the same way;

i might be sittting down with something a bit stronger for the first listen, as i'll be taking the afternoon off work to devote myself to complete immersion. not listening to it as the boys intended - aside from changes to the running order - in its entirety, as a complete body of work strikes me as almost insulting. i can understand why people d/l and i do it all time, but the psb are just - special - and i don't mind waiting...
