I've been a fan since 1987. I have spent thousands on PSB records, promos, etc.
I have order the CD from Japan, from the UK, and I will buy a Canadian one as well.
I've ordered the CD and DVD single from Amazon.co.uk.
I can't imagine anyone in the know here that has it that would never buy the release. Guys on Peer to Peer systems getting it, they are not hardcore like us, maybe they would not all buy it.
But here, hardcore fans = buying the release.

I couldn't agree more...I have been a fan since 1987, too and I have bought anything I could lay my hands on even when I barely had money to put a food in my mouth...Rorie wrote:I've been a fan since 1987. I have spent thousands on PSB records, promos, etc.

I am still patiently going through backcatalogue of Release era in Amazon.com at horrible prices (I get along single at 18.99$ plus shipping????
The only thing I have not bought so far is music sheet books...but my past experiences whisper that there will be a time for them, too

I wonder who Kim Philby really is?
Personally, I'm waiting for the CD release. There's a bit of magic there when you put on the album for the first time. Totally destroys the moment when you hear a thirty second clip on the net. (Thankfully, I didn't listen to the samples).
As for everyone giving their 'Best of Fundamental', it's best to not read the threads and listen to the new songs with an open mind. That way, you won't be influenced (slightly).

Lads, Kim Philby is not Neil. Though I'm sure he's very amused by all this!
I doubt there's many fans who won't be rushing out to buy the album even if they have already downloaded it. Nothing compares to the physical product.
The problem would be if the album became widely available for download, it's the people who aren't fans but just like some PSB stuff, they're the ones who wouldn't buy it.

Yes, but I suspect that won't stop many people. I'm still waiting for 22nd, even though I only listen to music via my PC these days, I never used my hi-fi so got rid of it.
All we can hope for is that everyone in here still buys it even though they might have downloaded it. I'm sure that will be the case for the vast majority.

Plus you can proudly display your affection for PSB with a physical CD...at least to your circle of friends, if that's a positive thingkimphilby wrote:Just remember, the ilegal downloads you have of Fundamental will never sound as good as the official CD on a good set of speakers!

precisely. we're a bit like the freemasons. at least when it comes to secrecy and the sexual innuendo.TheGardner wrote:To be serious:kimphilby wrote:I jst want to know how folks are already walking around with it on their ipods. What gives? You f***ers better go out ang buy it for real!
It took me 2 and a half year to come behind all the 'secrets' of the PSB community! You already have 36 post! Stay here for the next couple of months check out the scene, find links to pages and looking for links there - and maybe you will find some friends who can help you a bit with all, so you are in the front row when the next Pet Shop Boys album is announced!
And if you don't have the time or interest for all - you don't deserve the album earlier than the final release!
Internet is amazing! It always will be!
