Greatest PSB moments so far !!

Given the new interest sparked by the new album, I'm interested in hearing other fans best moments (so far). I've been a fan since the first version of opportunites ( I bought the single after hearing the b-side - took me ages to find at the time - and yep I'm an oldie!!)

My personal highlights have been the gig at the Hacienda nightclub in Manchester and the Performance at Blackpool Opera house. I was lucky enough to meet Neil and Chris in Manchester. I'm really surprised that absolutely no bootlegs exist of the Hacienda gig - it was (at the time) unbelievable - a punk rock sounding rendition of Rent !!

I just hope that for the new younger fans the events like the BBC show have the same impact as the earlier gigs did for me !!!

What do others think ?

The best PSB moment for me was meeting PSB in 2002. And especially when Chris looked straight into my eye and said hello.

I was at the hacienda also, I managed to meet Neil outside his hotel in the afternoon and pestered him about what new song they'd be singing......turned out it was go west....but yeah it was amazing..after Cicero's set he came out and had a few beers with the fans which was good. Other than that I think buying Behaviour was a highlight because there was a huge gap between studio alubums. (or so it felt at the time) that was the days when downloading meant taping a song from the radio

so the buzz was amazing getting to hear a whole album brand new.

That's your highlight - not a PSB highlight!

Mine would be The Savoy show and having dinner next Neil and Elton at The Ivy afterwards. Close second would be The Astoria and meeting the guys at the after-show (thanks to Neil and Redman for this one!).

Mine is Monday night 8th May 2006 at Radio 2 gig...no doubt about it!!! Meeting them after waiting so long was well worth it

Trixie, you were one lucky girl the other night - what other fans would have done to get in to that gig!!!

I forgot to mention that I did meet Neil and Chris on the Hacienda night. I also stood next to Margi Clarke throughout the concert - she was really nice and we chatted and danced quite a bit afterwards. I managed to get quite a few signatures on the ticket stub.

Do you remember the long waiting after
their performance in Berlin??

For me, I'm not sure about PSB, it was a
highlight seeing them in Cologne after a
TV show getting autographs of both and
meeting Neil last year before doing their
'Battleship Potemkin' performance in Ber-
lin.
He was waiting at a traffic light like me
and other fans, then walking in front of
us until we called him up ...

I stood at that traffic light and went

Hardly could believe my eyes seeing him
walking in front of us while phoning. He
has been very nice and we've got some
photos taken with him.

Without a doubt the radio 2 gig on Monday.....

- being sat 15 feet in front of Chris for 2 hours
- hearing Devices with live orchestration brought tears to my eyes
- 'It's a sin' and 'Jealousy' (despite the vocalist) blew me away
- witnessing such a 'name laden' event (Anne, Trevor, Steve etc)
- the intimacy of the venue

......a night never to be forgotten.

We should let psb know that they should release a live album with tracks from hacienda gig, the barfly gig and now the mermaid gig (and any other exclusive concerts when they performed new versions of songs). Those versions would be great to hear and they must have the masters as 'of course its all on tape'

I'd list all of the above for myself too. Without a doubt, as Stuart Marconi put it when closing the show ... "I think we've all witnessed something really special here tonight"

I agree.....after Monday night I'd love a CD release of Mermaid Versions, maybe just touched up a little in the studio......

Definatley Monday night - I doubt any of us will get the chance to hear the Boys' music played by a live orchestra and all those names in such an intimate venue ever again. It's three days on and I'm still quite overwhelmed by it!
