i luv being boring!

#1 Post by danini »

this song is a legend and the most beautiful masterpeace ever written. i think it deserves a topic of it's own.
Lets praise this beautiful music, and anybody who does not agree must be a moron. pet shop boys fans who dislike being boring are not real fans. i could never take some one like this seriously, if you dislike being boring, go and listen to some american rap instead!

and one of the articles is written by me, 'Hocknell', if you read it I hope you enjoy it.

Think it describes my feelings for the song.

OK, I like it but it's not among my favourite PSB songs. After all, it wasn't a big hit as a single and I can see why. Over-rated as a song - but of course it's way better than "some American rap"! :P

However, it's not so good that it deserves its own website!

And still I don't understand why Neil sings about his "nineteen twenties". He's not that old, is he? :o

Being Boring is benchmark for Pop songs.
Neil Tennant has a great voice, Chris Lowe has great silence.

aside from being heartbreakingly beautiful in terms of sheer musicality, BB is a song that defines a certain generational angst. so it has a timeless quality, something many songs aspire toward but are unable to achieve.

as to the 1920s, one interpretration is that the character in the song is someone who was young in the '20s. of course, you and I can change that to whenever WE were young -- in the '30s, '50s, '70s, whichever decade you prefer.

Being Boring is the most beautiful song ever created. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe were born to compose Being Boring.

Perfection has no equals

Um . . . .

I came acrss a cache of old photos,
And inviitations to teenage parties
"Dress in white", one said with quotations,
from someone's wife, a famous writer in the 1920s.

---------------

The "quotations" (printed onto the single cover I believe - "She was never bored mainly because she was never boring" - is that right?) came from Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald; who was . . . a famous writer in the 1920s.

Love comes quickly, but is a catastrophe and a bourgeois construct etc.
