I am visually handicapped. And it is almost impossible for me to read the new site. It's not possible to enlarge the text. The text doesn't fit the window, text on the right is missing.
Why does it always have to look cool? I think the accessibility is much more important.
Bill's site was much better.
For people with a bad eyesight the new site is a very, very bad accessible website.

You wouldn't have to. But visually handicapped would appreciate the possibility to enlarge the - small for majority convenience - text the way it is standardly enlarged on web pages (i. e. CTRL + scroll mouse wheel, or in browser display settings).

I am getting this message from the new site at the moment!

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Prick up your ears.

Now all the headlines in the news section lead to UK support / Loraine article.

Do websites ever get it 100% on the first launch. Even websites that have been running years have problems. The updates on the old website were very poor. It's all about getting use to change. The new site doesn't look bad at all.

Dave is right, its like people have had their favourite teddy bear taken from their bed and want the old one back because its warm and familiar.

Its a good site, you'll grow to like it. The old one was really shite in comparison.

My pic/info is also missing on the Peatheads section...just as many others. As I can see, the max petheads on each country is now just 35, that´s the reason why many pics are missing...I hope this situation get solved soon!
mine is missing too!!!! and I was in the first place !!!!!

I like (but not love) it because the overall look reminds me of their white albums era. It's a clean design and is more associated with PSB's signature minimalistic designs than Redman's and I can see why they chose this over Redman's.

I don't think it looks that fresh, because it seems to use design concepts from their "imperial phase" 15 years ago, thus I felt the look is a bit outdated. The design looks like a fusion of Introspective (use of album colors) and Behaviour (white background and font type). I must admit I was thrown off a bit since I was expecting something based on the Fundamental design as it was mentioned that the redesign was to coincide with the launch of Fundamental. With this look, one might have the impression that they were releasing Behaviour or Introspective last month instead of Fundamental.

Of course as others have already mentioned here, its functionality and userability have to be improved and some typos to be corrected and bugs to be fixed. Overall, the new design is fine and I am okay with the site once they sorted the above mentioned issues.

Kermit wrote:Well, as a professional webdeveloper I have to say this is a pretty bad functional website. It lacks basics as a proper document definition to start with, doesn't validate to any web standard, if not flash it uses all sorts fo Javascript. Further more they haven't even used the EOLAS Patent patch to enable active content. This results in a very bad accesible website (also for search engines). The only justification for this is the jukebox which needs to play continueously across all pages, but there are better solutions for that. This is not how you make websites 2006...
Fully agree with you, the missing of the EOLAS patch is really not done, as is opening the site in a pop-up, that is so nineties ;) And the use of Flash, sure it looks nice, but is it really required in this instance? I think that is a problem with a lot of movie and band sites anyway. I would have loved to see something more up to current standard/practice... but hey...

"function MM_reloadPage", don't hope they charged for coding that ;) .

As I was expecting, when I saw the design of Redman, this is a real disappointment. It is all a bit iffy navigating (especially with these little up/down scrolling arrows).

And how would they do that with a Flash application if it is not build in? Good practice would be not to use Flash and allow the end user to change the font size. 90% of the people also don't use a screen resolution of 800x600, but notice how there were already some people in this topic complaining they could not see the full pop up. They really should have thought about that.

okay okay it's much better this evening. I'm listening to Home and Dry Ambient mix. :)

it's still pretty slow. especially when you're listening to the songs, you've got to wait ages for it to do other stuff. they've already done more stuff with it 'cos I see some new things. I like the new 'open in browser window' better as I hate the pop-up thingy. I love the lyric of the day and the on this day bits (thanks wayne!). the petheads section is half-done though. I don't see me and I don't see all the US petheads in there either.

anyhow, I haven't looked through everything else yet but I simply ADORE the lyrics keyword search. I've got myself stuck in it. it's absolutely ace. 8)

okay, I'm getting used to it... give it time. ;)
