I think the airplay chart is updated every Sunday evening. The chart forums always post it. Don't worry, one of us will post any info on here as soon as it becomes available. Minimal wasn't top 50 last week but it almost certainly will be this coming week...

It's supposed Minimal will have a better position in the airplays because it has the same promotion of Radio 2 and new promotion of Capital Radio.

How strange. This song is having the same promotion I'm with stupid had on Radio 2 and with the aditional promotion of Capital FM, it would have to make it better.

Whats to say that the songs above it aren't getting more airplay? Going by that logic, Minimal will sell exactly the same number of copies as I'm with stupid and also get to number 8.

I hate The Kooks. What a shit name for a band. They could have at least called themselves something racist for the craic.

And why is sexy Shakira getting so little airplay?

44(47): Shakira/Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie

.... and she is now the number one in the charts.

Shakira isn't number one in the UK any more - Lily Allen is.

This song is having the same promotion I'm with stupid had on Radio 2 and with the aditional promotion of Capital FM, it would have to make it better.
The playlist is done on a rating system, measured by audience reached rather than number of times played. Minimal has received 77 plays this week, less than any other in the Top 50 (& probably quite a few outside) but because it has strong support from Radio 2, the nations most listened to station, it is rated more highly.
The plays it receives on Capital will rate quite highly but in reality Capital FM in London is one station in one city. Unless other Capital owned (Gcap) stations follow suit, it won't make that much difference to the songs overall audience reach.

Last week I heard it twice on Capital, both at high audience times but perhaps the majority of its plays have come at 02.40 in the morning, "the graveyard shift" and so its audience reach is not so great. Let's see if they keep playing it. Apparently, they play songs that get lots of requests.

I don't know but I think this chart reflects the result of two weeks ago (just the same week the promotion of Radio 2 started), that's why it says "NE" (new entry). Maybe, the promotion of Capital FM hasn't been include yet (the capital fm promotion started one week later).
