Dazzer, stats man extraordinaire, how many copies do they need to sell to get in lower reaches of Top 75 at the moment?

Sadly I did not make that bit up!

To get to number 75 last week you needed to sell 3152 copies. That honour went to Gorillaz and Demon Days who incidentally sold 959 copies in the supermarkets.

Hopefully Minimal will be a big enough 'hit' to shift at least a few more copies of Fundamental

Well you know how marketing oriented record companies are - they want to know everything about how their records sell.........you'll have to tell the guy at the check out how large your penis is soon.....so it can go into the sales breakdown.

Since Minimal has been at radio & tv for a couple of weeks now, one would presume that there would be some sort of impact on album sales, however, err....minimal. Fundamental zoomed back up to the dizzy heights of #190 last week (more likely thanks to Numb), so where is it in mid-weeks this week? Gone I suspect, where it will probably stay. I doubt very much that Minimal is going to have any significant future impact on Fundamental's chart position. Hope I'm wrong though.

There doesn't seem to be much between the lower end of top 75 and the lower of top 200. Surely, in the next 2-3 weeks, Minimal must be able to help the album shift enough copies to get back in the 200 and close to the 75

One would hope so. Are EMI going to put out another tv ad (for a week at least)?

You only had to sell around 1000 copies to get into the top 200 and 2000 to get into the top 100. 4500 would have got you into the top 50 and 12,000 into the top 20.

Fundamental was on finnish charts for 6 weeks. 9-14-14-21-25-22 and now it´s out from top40.

I reckon there will be an Xmas re-advertising campaign with "Numb" as a wintry single...and it'll have a sticker with "as featured on the BBc World Cup footage"

Perhaps, but you'd expect Numb to be released (if its the next single) around October. And considering the tour won't reach UK until the new year, you'd also think there might be an album-supporting single release round that time too. It is, after all, a tour in support of Fundamental. Perhaps Integral/ Fugitive double A (ha ha, sorry, not going down that road)...
